They made a post on their twitter talking about a strange and terrifying artifact from the natural history museum, that needed to find a home and finished it with stay tuned. Then about twelve hours later they tweeted a picture of three ships from Call Of Cthulhu. Off the top of my head the only experience they sell that has to do with a museum is tempest fugit, but I wouldn’t describe that artifact as terrifying. I’m assuming the artifact they are discussing is the Idol of Cthulhu from back in the day. Originally it was a bespoke experience, it was also featured on their inner space video which was recently deleted, as well as being their very first upload on their instagram. It was most recently seen as the beloved patron gift from The Century Beast, well an interpretation of it with more detail. Anyways maybe I’m crazy and it’s nothing but them trying to advertise tempest fugit or maybe It is something, only time will tell.

I can't really believe my lack of curiosity here.

To further support my theory they posted a picture to their Facebook that was a map with a location plotted as well as cordinates of, south latitude 47, 9. West longitude 126, 43. With the caption, “dormant for aeons”, referring to the island of R’lyeh.

If this were a little over a year ago, I would be salivating over more Lovecraft themed MPC goodness. However; at this point in my life, I'm just hoping I get invited into the library soon.

How sad would it be if they release a new experience before they do anything with Post Mortem....which is a product that they have been advertising for over a year now...with absolutely nothing to show for it. They may as well delete it off their web page. Really! Every time I see that page now I laugh with derision.
And now here they are advertising or hinting at a new experience now....when will it be released? Maybe 2023 if we go by how they are doing with Post Mortem

If so give us money now and maybe, just maybe we will do the thing at some point later. Where later is possibly never but we are disguising our lack of caring as 'mystery', aren't you excited?"

I would be very surprised if there was substantial new content; I think eclosis' theory that this is just the Cthulhu artifact is quite likely. At the same time, I'm wary because of the documented decrease in manufacturing quality of previous artifacts, especially the Augur piece. Normally, I would leap at the opportunity to own the Cthulhu statue, but if it's going to be shoddily put together, then no thanks.

If it is that artifact, it's a slap in the face to all the people who pledged the Century Beast Kickstarter at a high enough level to get it, because it was supposed to be the only way to get said artifact.

You betcha! SMACK! The Beloved Patron artifact had, in fact, already been recycled (with a different paint job) from an earlier Bespoke Experience. It was shown earlier in a photo in C&C. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

This is all speculation of course, just educated guessing. But It would not be the first time they’ve turned a bespoke experience into a reoccurring experience( demon jar, as well as risen). Maybe it won’t be an experience at all, maybe they intend to handle it as a one off artifact mailing (Rip Vulcan Dragon Tooth (part of me hopes we will see this in a certain library at some point)). But I agree with it being a slap to the face of the kick starter backers, I just don’t think they care anymore. It makes sense as it’s already a developed idea and I’m sure they have the mold for it somewhere. But let’s be honest friends they will build up to its release on Wednesday or Friday, people will preorder it and then it will get canceled in a week. Also I’m surprised in the company’s current state that they aren’t trying another kickstarter.

The mention of Post Mortem has me wondering when the concept for that was created and when the application process first got set in motion behind the scenes. Was it before some of the designers we like left the company? Whose concept was it? The lack of any apparent motion on the project might suggest that there isn't a real commitment to it at this point, nor anyone's hand on the wheel at all.

It was last December that we first heard of it. The last issue of Volume IV of C&C....it was after they let go most of the designers. And it was months after that they added the Post Mortem page to their website.
