This will be the first new experience designed after they let go the entire creative team. So I will wonder at the quality. If anybody succumbs to the tempt Tatian and purchases it I’m sure a lot of us will be interested to know. I’m thinking they are just going to reuse ephemera from the old bespoke experience so I wouldn’t assume completely new, I could be wrong.

I'm still not convinced they have anyone who is producing new narrative content; their only new experience all year wasn't written by them. Though, in an interesting twist, it was revealed that the McElroy's did not design the puzzles for the Taako experience, so the MPC have someone on staff who is working on puzzles.

Reduced by $3.33.
I am a Cthulhu fanatic, but almost $200 for one mailing with an admittedly impressive-looking statue seems a bit much. Though it does contain a 'typewritten document,' 'newspaper articles,' and a 'bas-relief of the lunatic artist' - is that enough for that price?
I'm just a bit jaded with them now I guess. Am I being cheap?

I have a feeling that they're going to include the whole story in various documents, though that's total conjecture.
They're also including a cult ring and a challenge coin as optional add-ons. Shipping is over thirty dollars to the US, so for me this thing would be close to three hundred dollars if I was to get everything. I'm so on the fence about it...

...They're also including a cult ring and a challenge coin as optional add-ons... Oh I see! Hrm. Not worth the extra money, unless you're looking to get rid of your money. Though I do like the design on the ring. Not the ring itself, just the design on it.

Hmmmm...That thing is absolutely gorgeous. But I'm still a little leery on whether I should be giving MPC $200 of my hard earned coin. Especially when there might be questions of quality.

I'm perplexed that they would announce this on Twitter rather than communicating via email with their "members" first.

While I like the statute, the photo is deceiving. I can't tell the actual size. If you look at it compared with the box...it is easy to see that the statute size has been enlarged as it would not fit in the box behind it. Just guessing at the box dimensions from the folded 8 1/2 x 11 pages sticking out of the box, I'm guessing the interior crate size is about 12" x 6" x 6". So even if the interior crate size is 12" with the wings taking up half of the statute's height - that would mean the main height of the statute would be around 6". Not a bad size...but personally I think the statute is probably not any taller that 10" since it needs some room the in crate. Frankly, if I were going to get everything offered and pay $300 for it...I think I would prefer ordering the HP Lovecraft Historical Society's MASKS OF NYARLATHOTEP DELUXE EDITION. While it does NOT come with a statute, the amount of "props" you get is very impressive - I believe it is around 100 items (seems to be all paper items but includes large format maps and photos)...along with a radio show story that I believe is around 7 hours long and uses 6 CDs to listen to. The shipment weighs over 4 pounds...and shipping is only $13.37. The total cost of Masks is only $242.37. So you get a lot more...both in terms of content and 7 hours of storytelling. MPC's offering will probably only take you an hour or so at most to get through....but it does have a VERY COOL display statute. For me though, I want the opportunity to immerse myself in the story for a day or two is worth more than a dust collecting VERY COOL display piece. *sigh* I think I just talked myself into ordering the Masks of Nyarlathotep store.hplhs.org/products/dart-deluxe-mon-working-page?variant=13893845418049

They actually have the dimensions for the statue listed. According to the site, it's 13" x 8" x 5.5" and weight 6.66lbs.

They are also all hand-made in their own warehouse by three dedicated people; truly a labor of love. The dimensions for the MPC statue are given on the product page: Cthulhu Statue Dimensions: Height: 13", Width: 8", Depth: 5.5", Weight: Approximately 6.66 lbs I'm going to be a fool and purchase it, but without the optional stuff. In classic MPC fashion, it's an extra five dollars shipping if you include the ring....
