Hey Folks, first time poster. Personally I am incredibly impressed with CCC, and think the value is incredible for the price. I only played one of the MPC games, Hastur, and thought it was very cool but not at all worth the amount of $$ I spent on it. But CCC has been great, and I think this most recent one, the Milton Manor was the best yet, probably because it was the first one I solved without any hints at all.
So yeah, I love these games. Am also playing the Society of Curiousities which has a different vibe and not quite as good, imho. Much more like an online treasure hunt.

Hmmmm. Seems like maybe interest has fallen off?
I'm going to try the first month of their first series, but I am curious (no pun):
What are some better offerings out there? Im assuming people havent stopped puzzling but may have found something they like better hence no more discussion?

Im assuming people havent stopped puzzling but may have found something they like better hence no more discussion? This became very paper-craft heavy and sometimes I could get puzzles to work and sometimes something ripped or didn't fold well and it was just cumbersome. That said, each mailing was very well made. The quality was beautiful and some of the puzzle mechanics were new and fun. I personally got entangled in a doctorate program and that was plenty of puzzling haha. But I also kept in touch with some of my friends from here and we do puzzle hunts every quarter or so. Check out the Puzzle Potluck and Puzzle Boat -- those are two that come to mind.

Thanks for the suggestions. I wasn’t aware of those.
I am worried that the Correspondence experience will be a little fiddle being all paper. I will learn soon I think.

Finally got around to the first chapter. The puzzles felt a little too abstracted from the theme to be a big hit in our household.
The hint system was pretty good. We prefer the graduated steps like this, mostly to check our work after we believe we got it right, step by step…..so that if we didn’t get it right we don’t just jump to the solution but have a chance to course correct and proceed with the learning process.
But I’m not sure that we will buy the rest of the season just yet. Got a few other series beginnings incoming, and we’ll see which hit us best and move forward with that.

It would be interesting to find a place online where people are discussing these chapter by chapter. So far, no luck.
