Apparently some of you found out about this on August 2. I only got an email about this today (August 5). I wonder why some people are more in the loop than others?
I have to admit, the "paper engineering" was not my favourite part of the later C&C seasons. I did prefer the more tactile materials, even if it was just a simple leather square with a red letter on it or a small brass tag with a mysterious number. Upon reflection, especially if it was these sorts of things.
I'm going to have to mull this over some.

I'm hearing some people were sent the first installment unsolicited.

I decided to give it a whirl. With the discount and the fact that one can cancel the mnthly subsciption at any time, it seemed low-risk.

Plus, they all feel great when collected together into a little box of "haunted and/or esoteric" items.

They lost me with "elective hint system". That and "we embrace paper engineering". But I'm curious as to which MPC alumni they are. Oracle has seen through the crystal ball, a time when many a brave twisted MPC soul worked to stay far from such things. There are many alumni to be seen in my orb, yet the alumni in question freshly appeared in my gaze only 14 lunations ago. Those that created the acclaimed C&C had all but dissolved into the outer ether 20 lunations ago. Although you can still hear whispers of long ago puzzle and narrative plans in the waving fists of those abandoned. Curiosity prevails and the Oracle remains gazing.

Looks like I have a mailer coming in today from the Triple C. In the preview picture on the USPS site, it looks like there's a URL with a mystery extension after the ".com/". Maybe there's a freebie or discount in it for some of us if we solve a puzzle.

I still haven't actually seen or heard anything about this other than here. I went in for the first mailing, see how it goes. I loved CnC and all of it's difficulty, but my partner is not quite at the same level of clever puzzle-solving and it will be nice to have something he can participate in more.

Update on the correspondence. It wasn’t much of a puzzle. If this is meant to entice us, it didn’t do a great job.
The offer is also not exciting. It did not change my mind and make me pull the trigger

I wish them the best of luck and will probably try the first chapter. I can say from experience that creating a profitable company based on a puzzle experience is extremely difficult. The market is very small. I spent 6 months creating www.puzzletales.com with some talented people, so I have some background. Its tough. I think increasing the market by making it "family friendly" and offering hints for everyone is a smart move from a business aspect, even if this means losing a few "hard-core" puzzle people in the process.

I think increasing the market by making it "family friendly" and offering hints for everyone is a smart move from a business aspect, even if this means losing a few "hard-core" puzzle people in the process. Likewise, I'm giving it a couple of months. I doubt any experience will match the satisfaction I enjoyed with C&C Volume 3, but I expect it was ultimately a lack of profitability that doomed C&C. That and MPC's (I assume greater) return on investment with their other experiences.
Since then, I have turned to Kickstarter to satisfy my jones for puzzles, and while I have backed a lot of books and one-offs (with mixed success), it is only recently that I've found a couple of subscriptions to back (e.g., Detective Society, Scarlet Envelope). As the fulfillment for these are only in progress now, the jury is still out. While "tchochke" items don't make or break the enjoyment for me, tactile puzzles and storyline themes do add significantly to the experience. I also like the trend I am seeing now adding reset packages as add-ons and/or stretch goals.
I think offsky's comment on adding the option of hints as a good business strategy is probably spot-on. Perhaps not the best analogy, but as a creator of some of the more difficult geocaching puzzles, I am more interested in satisfying as many would-be solvers as possible, so I readily provide them upon request. Otherwise, no-one but just a few "hard-core" players would even bother to look at mine. And it's a huge effort to create a tight puzzle.
So I'm giving it a shot, and my expectations are not that high. I can always cancel. Sorry for the ramble.

Has anyone received chap 1 yet? Or even a mailing notification? The most recent communication I had from them was this past monday 8/17 which said: "Dearest Correspondent, It’s here! And not a moment too soon. This week marks the handcrafted finishing touches of Chapter 1: The Custodian’s Keys, and we’re pleased to announce they’ll begin their journey to each of you on Wednesday. As with all things these past months, it’s been quite a ride reaching this moment. We’re so excited to get this into your hands, and can’t wait for your feedback. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to beginning this journey with you all! Yours in Curiosity, The Curious Correspondence Club"

I received the same email. Seems like a pretty important email to get if you ordered. The subject is "Dearest Correspondent" if you want to check spam and whatnot.

I sent them an email and today I got an answer. Apparently these things were put in the mail (Canadian I assume) yesterday. And no sign of tracking numbers, so I’m guessing the Canadian version of media mail.
