I have received the Weeping Book and the Lost Treasure of John Augur and this experience has been much more in my humble opinion that John Augur. If the next four mailings are similar to this I believe it will justify the price.

Way back when the experience was first released I posted my thoughts on the artifact being a I'm in the club now too.

Some optical device or another, certainly! With one of the future inhabitants of the house being a magician I had speculated it might possibly be some miniature pepper's ghost apparatus. Or possibly a zoetrope or a camera obscura? On the other hand, the only such artifact that would indeed benefit from the available display stand would probably be a stereoscope. -EDIT- I will take back the third one. I suppose a camera obscura with slides would just be a laterna magica.

I will confess a little disappointment in the lack of immersiveness. These are clearly printed to look old instead of being authentically aged. Perhaps it's a symptom of the mass production of a Kickstarter run, but I'm used to more realistic antiquing on MPC experiences.
That being said, there is certainly a good deal of material and it looks to have intriguing content. I'm compelled to finish my tasks for the day and be drawn in.

I dunno, I'm actually a bit underwhelmed. While there's a lot of content, this is by far the most fake-feeling of all of their first mailings. As Todd said, the staining and general aging of the documents is clearly printed instead of authentic, and it's unusual for things to get so intense with the storyline right away. If I was a random recipient, I would be intrigued, but I would certainly be able to tell right away that this was some kind of entertainment related product.
Despite my slight disappointment, I'm looking forward to what's to come. This is clearly going to be an experience where the whole will be greater than the sum of its parts, and it will be a lot of fun to have the experience wrap up close to Halloween. And of course, it's just awesome in general to have a new MPC Experience to take part in!

Well, I certainly hope that does not become common practise for the Company. These, after all, supposed to be tactile Experiences.

Without spoiling anything, this first mailing definitely has some tactile elements in it, but the printed on weathering is a dramatic slide from the general quality that I've seen from the MPC before, and it doesn't compare well to a number of other similar Experiences and boxes that I've gotten from other companies recently. I agree with Todd that I hope it's because of the Kickstarter production and not a new general level of quality that we're going to see from them in the future.

Another thing I'm missing are the rabbit holes. Internet searches have turned up nothing. No in-game website for the financial company. No real mysterious history for a parcel of land.
It could be I'm just not trying hard enough. I do admit to being rather distracted. Did anyone find any real-world tie-ins?

It could be I'm just not trying hard enough. I do admit to being rather distracted. Did anyone find any real-world tie-ins? I feel the same way. I was surprised to not find at least a website for the financial company since it has such an odd and distinctive name and because they (very mild spoilers for John Augur) created several fake websites for John Augur.
