It will be interesting to see how long thegenii's streak of receiving responses where others have not will continue.

I wrote to Shelby Arnold about an hour ago. I'll keep you updated.

I wrote to them and got a response probably a month ago, but it was coupled with another question about an item I was interested in purchasing.
What amuses me, at least a little bit, is that it's OK to more or less hold people's feet to the fire these days, where it was quite frowned on when some of us were complaining about the Century Beast.

I don't think this is a case of "holding feet to the fire" because the Armchair Detective Company was clear from the getgo that they "hoped" to be able to deliver in 2017. Some folks just seem to be getting the willies because of the lack of email updates. "The Century Beast" was late, late, and got later. It was actually an experience (albeit a crappy one for us) that will benefit those in the future: I got a note that the fourth mailing of "Under the Ceiba Tree" was sent today. Much more timely, and I expect "Filigree in Shadow" to be pretty much on time. Well, fingers crossed there.

For what it is worth, the Company seem to have a much better handle on their shipping times these days. The first two mailings of The King In Yellow were shipped right on schedule, and they even shaved a week off the lead time as indicated on their website.

Just FYI, the Genii's streak has ended: no response yet from the folks at The Armchair Detective Company!

I know these folks have good reputations in other ventures but their complete and total silence is odd, to say the least.

It's the same when you pre-order stuff from the website. You order it in April and it shows up in October, without any communication in between. At least, that's been my experience.

Put your minds at rest - I've been in touch with, and had a nice reply from, Simon Arizpe, one of those involved with Armchair Detective, and he states that they are working on an update for their FB site and indiegogo and it'll be online soon. Target is still 2017, they expect it to be several months from now before all is ready. All is good, all looks legit.

And as promised, there's a substantial update to the indiegogo page.

I received an email asking for the portrait and name required for the personalization of the The Starcrossed Lovers, so it would appear things are moving ahead!
