Are everyone's boxes being shipped by media mail now? They used to be first class. Not only is it irritatingly slow, but to my understanding these packages do not qualify for the media mail rate. If the boxes ever get inspected -- which they can do to media mail -- they could arrive postage due.

In fact, July 4th at first seemed like it was going to delay it, but it actually ended up getting delivered several days earlier than the original USPS estimate. That is concerning with Media Mail since it's so unpredictable, but we'll have to see what happens with next month. Not sure if this got sent out to everyone, but they sent out an email during Marlow's Game that said they were running into financial issues with Dispatch, so they're clearly cutting corners where they can. What seems weird is that they're still producing elaborate artifacts that can't be cheap; I'd certainly rather have more extensive puzzles and reliable shipping.

Basically if it is just “media” (paper items) it is ok. But any other items like coins, etc., would bump it up to first class.

just opened my I SPY Box 3. Can anyone tell me if there is a need for a UV light? I couldn't find anything. It's possible something I have was not 'stamped' with the ink.
Thanks

Re: dispatch by Breakout final box. It should be illegal to imply thru word or pictures that you are sending a female a box of chocolates, and then not do so. Also, I do not like dark chocolate so I will have to send it to my sister who lives halfway across the USA from me.
Just saying.

Quick question - anyone here in the UK interested in a full set (of seven) Dispatch Breakout On The Run boxes?

This thread has been quiet for a while. Is anyone still doing these? Can you recommend which of the three stories is the most fun (I don't necessarily mean the most puzzle-difficult, just enjoyable)? Have they announced an upcoming fourth one? THANKS!

Have they announced an upcoming fourth one? THANKS! That's a tough question. I've completed all three stories so far and I'm expecting the first Box of the next series to arrive on Thursday. I enjoyed On The Run and I SPY more than the mini mystery of Marlow's Game. For On the Run I thought the puzzle types were repetitive and some were very time consuming for very little pay off. But overall I enjoyed the experience of all three stories.

I just started I Spy, and so far everything is looking good. I agree with the general consensus that Marlow's Game is a little lackluster, mostly owing to its lack of good physical components. However, the first box of I Spy looks great. No plans to discontinue my subscription anytime soon.

I canceled. Marlow's Game Box Two is a disaster, and I,Spy gets bad very quickly in my opinion; there's one box (forgetting which one, but I think its the second one) that I remember solving in about twenty minutes. I also ended up having incredibly bad shipping issues with them; I believe I never ended up receiving a box I was meant to get that was sent Media Mail. My second biggest disappointment after Decoder Ring's collapse, as I loved On The Run and still think it's the single best subscription box arc I've experienced (well, or at least tied with Decoder Ring's Roland).

Has anyone purchased the Dispatch Kids version? I'm curious to see if it is of any value. Or... Does anyone have a good subscription recommendation for a just turned 5 year old boy?

Has anyone purchased the Dispatch Kids version? I'm curious to see if it is of any value. Or... Does anyone have a good subscription recommendation for a just turned 5 year old boy? I did. My 5-year old enjoyed it! It was made up of 3 deliveries. Each one involved both physical and online components as well as other tools like flashcards. The only criticism I'd level with it is that it wasn't really clear what order to do things in without referring to the parent notes, and that for the money she blew through the content pretty rapidly (about an hour for each one, though that can vary per child I'd imagine.)
