I actually prefer the majority-online puzzles. I live in a tiny apartment and just don't have room for boxes and boxes full of tchotchkes.. but I love all these subscription mysteries and wish I could participate in more of them without drowning in ephemera.

My main problem is that I pay half the cost of the subscription again in shipping. That’s fine if I actually get something worthwhile shipped to me. 14$ in shipping for something that’s mostly online is.... not worth it. Now, if there was a digital online-only version where I didn’t have to pay the NotAnAmerican tax, I’d be willing to give them a lot more slack.

I posted about this elsewhere but just to add it here: I'm currently selling all of the "On the Run" series from Dispatch that I have. I'm offering all 7 boxes for $90 for shipping within the US.
For the most part these are in good shape. All 7 boxes have already been opened (obviously), and the only item missing is a perishable item (chocolate square) that was included in box 7 that is not required to solve anything. There is also one small puzzle in box 3 and one larger one in box 4 that have been marked up (oops) but nothing that ruins/spoils the larger experience. Everything else is included and intact!

Just finished the Greece box, all the way to the video, and feel like I missed something along the way The kenken got me the bank vault The jigsaw puzzle got me the website Putting 2+2 together got me the name. What was the purpose of the other stuff - like the riddle, etc? I looked up Ecclesiastes 4:12, linking it with the hits put in on the family, and presumably the three people. However, these weren't necessary to the video?

Would love a nudge on the final Season 1 box. Here's what I've got so far I opened the vault at the bank and found the letter from James' father saying that his brother Rodney is still alive. Just hoping he doesn't turn out to be 'Owen'. I read the opinion page letter which could be from either Rodney or Lydia, as we know Lydia was probably amnesiac, but something may have been done to Rod's memory, too. I'm presuming that it's Rodney's message as it focuses on his grandfather. I've tried using any variation of Rodney or Lydia's name on the psychiatric page. Nothing I've tried using the following locations for the package at the ski resort: Tahiti (from Olivia's instagram), Zermatt (from the chocolate). Nope. I couldn't find coordinates for anything resembling Springhaven, so.... From Olivia's poetry, I'm wondering if it's actually Olivia on there - the last message has something garbled which I haven't been able to figure out (ISNBRO), and SAME MIND. And apparently she drinks too much, not that I can blame her with that family. I may start, too, if I can't figure this out... Greatly appreciate any nudges. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious but it's so obvious I can't see it...

Anyone out there getting the new Dispatch mystery? I SPY.
So far I've received the first Box and it's interesting. Not sure how many Boxes are involved with this one.

What's the general storyline like? I'm thinking of cancelling after I receive the 7th On the Run box.

I read a little about it on the Dispatch slack, and people seem to be enjoying it, but puzzle-wise it mostly sounds like more of the same (though I don't know the framing story). Solve some codes, get a password for a website, watch a video. With the initial discount code, On The Run was enjoyable enough, but for $25 a box it's getting repetitive (though I do enjoy the occasional multimedia flourish, like working phone numbers that give you messages). We'll finish out this story, but I think that's enough for us.

The story line for I SPY : you have been mistaken for a top secret agent, and now you have to stop an assassin. I found the first box interesting. I love how Dispatch incorporates websites and working phone numbers to add to the experience.

I found the first box of I Spy good but nowhere near as compelling or as well put together as On The Run was. The puzzles were fine (and there was one that I thought had a clever design element) but like with Marlow’s Game box two, there was at least one puzzle that had weird arbitrary logic needed to solve it. I’m debating canceling after I Spy (I have a hard time canceling these things mid-season).

Unfortunately, Box 2 of I Spy is really disappointing. There's a lot of slick artifact and website design, but the "puzzles" are laughably easy. If they don't step it up in the next box, I may end up canceling mid-season after all. I have a feeling they lost a puzzle designer between On The Run and I Spy.

indeed, Box 2 of I SPY was over too quick. I agree that the artifacts were cool and the web design was also really good, but the puzzles were easy and it was over very quickly.
for the placing of the 'bug' I thought for a moment that the picture of the hotel room was interactive, and that I had to pick a safe place to put the bug, and that it would be timed. was disappointed when all I had to do was click.
