Who knows, maybe they are planning to switch up the membership kits this year too, so that they integrate more with the rest of their product line, rather than being kind of a one-off. That would make sense to me, and bring the kits into the fold a bit more. From a "MPC universe" viewpoint, that would actually work really well....thoughts?

Personally, I would like to see photos of the 2013 and 2014 Membership Kits (I think they were issued in those years). I believe Todd listed the contents in one of the threads, but would still like to see them ... and if anyone needs some spare cash ...  |

I've gotten the last three, the 2014 and 2015 Inner Circle Kits, as well as the 2016 Madness in the Library Collector's Kit.

The fact that it's the end of August, and we've heard zilch about a 2017 Membership Kit, means they may not be doing one this year. Other points of view?

My guess is this:
A huge part of C&C was having people involved in the backstory and being part of it. Those that could and did solve the puzzles were part of an exclusive club of sorts. Though I just joined late last year and have never seen a Membership Kit, it seems to me that the kits would tie in to being part of that secret and exclusive club of members that had become part of the story. Since they seem to have abandoned the backstory...and we are no longer able to become part of the story or able to become a member of that secret, exclusive club...they have no need to encourage membership kits and have ditched them.
They do seem to be focused on just the story telling Experiences and C&C just a tool to hawk the Experiences. I see the C&C now as tiny mini-experience of a slightly different sort that is used to remind people that the MPC is still there and to encourage purchase of the bigger experiences.

Ouch!  While I was thinking about it I decided to ask the Curator if there was going to be a member ship kit this year. The short answer is "No". I can't copy and paste right now, my iPad 2 hates me. But I can forward the email to someone else if anyone wants to see it immediately. Otherwise I'll post the email tomorrow from my desktop. |

From a concierge at the MPC:
"Thank you for thinking to come straight to the source on this! I am very sorry to report that - for this year at least - we are not offering a Membership Kit! I don't know that this has any relation to the change of our C&C format - I imagine our number crunchers looked at all the pros and cons, and took these into account with the feedback we got from our members last year, and the decision was made to hold off on offering this in 2017. I do hate to bring you disappointing news at the end of the week. But as always, should you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me forthwith."
I see my interest in this company decreasing rapidly.

I have to say, I find my interest waning a bit as well, especially given how many other excellent experiences from other companies and independent artists there are now. Ironically, in an attempt to mass market their product, they seem to be moving away from the very thing that distinguished them in the past and that would keep me coming back without pause.
