1.2 - April

Wow, I got my envelope yesterday too (mysteriously, this is twice in a row that the envelope has not shown up on Informed Delivery, the US tracking service that lets you see what mail you're getting each day before it gets delivered). Whatever shipping service he's using is definitely way better internationally than it was before. Also, this month looks terrifying.

All right, I'm finally getting to this, and as always seems to be the case, I'm struggling with getting started. Anyone have a hint for i and ii?

Hi, I just recently started looking at the CPP, having picked up the first two issues of year 2 from Travelling Man. I eventually solved the first one (with a couple of pointer from the designer regarding the rather obvious clues on the first page I completely missed!), but am now stuck on the the second one, so thought I’d come here rather than bothering Jack every issue.

I managed to get a reasonably logical sequence of answers for the first five pages, but then can’t get any further, so am assuming I’ve made a mistake somewhere along the way.

I’m pretty sure I’m right on pages 1 and 2, but I suspect the error on 3 is making the rest insoluble.

How far has anyone else got?

Does anyone else find it a bit mean to start a new year (where new people are likely to jump in) with higher difficulty puzzles?

Anyone else struggling with April want to share ideas? I think I understand (i) and (ii), but not (iii). I've translated all but one card on (iv), but I think there's more to do. I know what to do on (v) but since I don't have a solution to (iv) I'm limited to guesswork. Parts (vi) and (vii) seem pretty straightforward, but I can only guess at which is the right starting point on (vi).

Otherwise, I'm also struggling, despite having had this in the back of my head for a couple weeks now. I think I know what to ignore on i), but not how to convert it to anything useful for ii). I have an idea of where to start for iii), but don't know what the Oracle is "saying". I've also translated all but one for iv), but can make a good guess at it. I agree that v) and vi) seem pretty straightforward ... but I haven't looked at vii) long enough to figure out the translations.

Has anyone solved this yet? I am confident in my first 4 pages after checking with Jack (and needing some nudging...man this month is hard and obtuse imo), but I am having trouble navigating v. I tried meta-ing the answer for vii, but I can't figure out the number combos. I thought Anyone have any ideas that they can PM me?
