According to the email, the Dread Holidays began November 1st and run till the end of December. It asks if we will be joining them this year.
Do you think they will be doing anything like they did last year? Thoughts

Hopefully, but last year we got a calendar with dates to look forward too, this year looks like it is just going to be a new discount every week

Speaking of calendar... I wonder if I have enough time to put together an Advent Calendar of sorts with puzzles or other fun things.

Well, I guess I managed to get something useful out of the Dread Holidays. I've been wanting to send John Augur off to a friend, and this week it has a $20 discount. I still had a discount code from the Century Beast, and so applied that as well (because I keep forgetting to apply it to things that I order for myself). So once the shipping and discounts were applied, it was something reasonable-ish at around $187 US. Which, of course, once converted to Canadian funds becomes something like $8,328. Well ... maybe the exchange isn't quite that high.

It's really disappointing there's been no "Dread Holidays Calendar" with clues to weekly specials and the creative writing that went along with the whole "advent" theme. What's happened, MPC....?

Same here - it was the puzzles they sent out last year that made me give in and order the entire back catalog of C&C

While I expect that they will push many advertising emails out for their Experiences, I haven't seen them do any real marketing push for C&C this year...and at this point don't expect them to. If they care about C&C anymore, they certainly don't show it.

If they care about C&C anymore, they certainly don't show it. They just sent a C&C marketing email on the 17th. Yes, they sent one out for Countdown to Oblivion, the upcoming issue...but they haven't really promoted C&C overall. Instead of promoting the whole product and trying to get people to do a long-term subscription...they are just promoting one single issue. Maybe it is due to the change to a "stand alone" issue. Sending out one or two emails every quarter that just promotes the purchase of a single issue - instead of sending out emails that promote the whole subscription is what I want to see. Maybe I just can't explain it well enough to really the issue I'm having across. It's a Monday.

They're not promoting a subscription, but each time the next box in a series of stand-alone boxes each time. I imagine one of their most commonly asked questions from potential C&C subscribers has been "Can I start at any time, or do I need to wait until the next volume starts?" Notice, though, that the email of the 17th says that this is the final issue in the fourth series. Keep your hopes high that something is afoot for 2018.

These are Dread Holidays indeed! MPC apparently went with HAK on the bandwagon and they don't ship to Germany any more. So no new experiences for me any more. I wonder why they came to this conclusion. Germany is missing as a country from my profile, too. So could be that this affects my preorders. I have sent a mail to MPC to comment on these changes and will keep you posted.
