Speaking of Surprise Me, it looks like there's been a stealth price increase. Pre-Christmas the Surprise Me price was $200 (with UK shipping at $45). Now I note their stated pre-sale price is $230 (with UK shipping now at $50)... The Surprise Me is back down to $199.99. Filigree in Shadow is no longer listed as one of the possibilities, dang it.

The 75$ price drop almost covers the shipping, so I went for it.

There are two things that I find notable about the public description. One is the total lack of anything regarding interactivity with the artifact or technology, so now for sure something drastic changed between the initial Kickstarter campaign and the finished product. Two is the warning about the dried lavender as an allergen; I hadn't even thought about that as a possible issue, but I don't remember that kind of warning at all at any point in the Kickstarter, and I hope someone didn't get a bad reaction to that mailing during the Kickstarter run. I'm the reason for the lavender warning! I got it for the kickstarter and after opening up the package, realized it was a horrible mistake: itchy, red, painful eyes... I'm crazy allergic to it. We sealed the lavender in a mason jar (where it currently still resides) and I had to let everything else air out for several days before I could dive in. I was worried the final mailings would also have plant matter, so I emailed and asked if it would be safe to open the next mailings. They got back to me fairly quickly (by MPC standards) and let me know I'd be fine opening up subsequent mailings. They promised to put a warning on it (which I didn't ask for, I was pretty sure I'm the only one who had issues). It's pretty neat that they took it so seriously.

Bit late to the party here but without giving away too many spoilers, is Filigree a ghost story? I'm a big fan of Gothic horror, especially stuff like Shirley Jackson's The House on Haunted Hill and was hoping Filigree was sorta similar to that in tone.
Anyways, tldr; Is Filigree about actual ghosts or should the "Haunted House" tag be taken loosely.

So I've finished the experience. I had no jigsaw, no lavender, and no reveal or endings. Would like to find out what the ending was supposed to reveal.

And no papercraft house, no lock of hair, no epilogue. Feeling cheated.
