I believe our lavender was loose inside the large envelope containing the other items and it made a mess!

I finally caught up with my FiS experience with the third mailing, and translated all the goblin text. Looking forward to the ending!

And so here's the crate. Unshackled from the KS expectations, the artifact is actually a pretty hefty piece of kit - very decent weight to it, and brilliantly packaged, but why it's not self-standing seems crazy. Other contents of the crate: 1. Jigsaw in what feels like a million pieces 2. A fabric wrapped and wooden boarded hat pin 3. Four page "Dear Papa" letter 4. Crime News newspaper 5. Three photos, one with a load of goblin writing on back

I swear I'm not stalking this board waiting for you to post, just happened to be on at the same time. All looks the same as the KS. Which epilogue did you choose?

Neither! I got this on Surprise Me! when it was on sale before Christmas, and so didn't get to pick....I presume the epilogue comes with the final black reveal?

The choice was between "Dark" and "Darker" if I remember correctly. Personally, I was very let down by the Epilogue from a narrative perspective (I chose Darker and at least in terms of "dark" content it did not disappoint). I actually like the "Dark" ending more, though they're both pretty superfluous to be honest. It'll be interesting to see what the "default" ending is.

I'll let you know - I need to read through the notes and stuff with the crate, but one thing I'm looking for is justification of why the artifact is what it is... i.e. a story-reason that this is what has been sent

That is actually a really satisfying and neat wrap-up to the story (albeit spooky coda to come perhaps) with a great justification for the artifact and hat pin too.... ....I'm thinking this works better as a "normal" experience rather than with the KS hype and expectations. Interesting.

....I'm thinking this works better as a "normal" experience rather than with the KS hype and expectations. Interesting. There were indeed unfulfilled promises made during the Kickstarter campaign that soiled the public opinion of the first run. There was also an unrelenting "mass produced" feel to the first run that may be a product of the sheer volume required to fulfill the Kickstarter commitments. I'd like to think the regular release has a more authentic feel. Allowing for that, and the, in my opinion, misguided jigsaw puzzle/blueprints this would have been something that was better received.

I just don't think the story is all that compelling or original, but that's my opinion. There's a huge amount of content, but some of definitely feels superfluous and like it's there for the sake of having stuff in the packages, and I don't think the writing or mood feels particularly "Victorian" as advertised. And yes, as Todd said, there was an aging problem with the Kickstarter run that was pretty rough; for example, one of the newspapers in the Artifact mailing looked like it was printed on glossy paper and was in pristine condition compared to everything else for no clear reason. Overall, I think Filigree is OK, and I get why it's their most expensive Experience, but I don't think it's all that worth the super high price.

Overall, I think Filigree is OK, and I get why it's their most expensive Experience, but I don't think it's all that worth the super high price. Maybe they sorted the aging out with the public release, and perhaps one day we can get both releases together to compare - certainly I haven't experienced the issue with aging or the newspaper the KS peeps seem to have. Price-wise that might be the point - a quick check of the MPC website lists its standard price at $350 (which for UK shipping turns out at $400 overall)....if I'd paid that, I think I would've been unhappy actually. But as it came as a Surprise Me, the cost was much lower and I'm pretty happy. --- Speaking of Surprise Me, it looks like there's been a stealth price increase. Pre-Christmas the Surprise Me price was $200 (with UK shipping at $45). Now I note their stated pre-sale price is $230 (with UK shipping now at $50)...

OK, final mailing for Filigree received today: 1. Regal Residencies flyer for Griggs Manor as a modern redevelopment (plus website link with cute update) 2. Dereliction #8 October 2002 3. A papercraft house (has anyone actually made theirs?)

I made it. Took a few days, and was a bit tedious, but it makes for a nice talking point.

I also made the papercraft house. It was quite time consuming, but it now occupies a place on top of one of my bookshelves.
I found the lock of hair to be quite realistic. If it was synthetic, I couldn't tell the difference.
It also happened to *exactly* match my own hair color, which was extra creepy.
