I'm adding my sigh as well. I might be done, which makes me very sad. It's been a fun few years...but this predictability is not what I'm paying for.

From a production perspective, I can see how it's convenient to not be scrambling to find a supplier for, say, toothbrushes one quarter and salad tongs the next.
But if the curios don't play into puzzles, I don't see the point of them at all.

But if the curios don't play into puzzles, I don't see the point of them at all. This exactly. I'm really disappointed that both of the "artifacts" we've received so far are pretty much the same thing. Maybe if they played into a puzzle (which is technically still possible), but I'm really tempted to cancel after this issue.

Prediction: I think this issue will: Come in a box made to look like a book. Inside we will have the Curios & Conundrums tabloid, a small pewter tchotchke, a small booklet, a pin, a papercraft, a tunnel book, and a couple stickers. Sigh. On the plus side, "tchotchke" can work its way into my vocabulary. That's a gold star word right there, and I am quite disappointed I haven't heard it sooner.

I'm going to ride it out through Countdown, and if it looks like Vol. 5 will continue this trajectory, I'm done. I'll save my money and do the experiences instead. There's no point in the same stuff every month if it has nothing to do with solving the puzzles.

I see the status on the MPC website has been changed to "Shipped" on "Nov 1", but I still have no USPS tracking.

They are incoming, I live by the office and just got it today, but I'm away for the night so it'll be up to the other canadiens to give their verdict.
