In doing some research on my invisible package, I see that this was sent as Media Mail, a rate for which it is not eligible. This is probably why some people are reporting that it was returned for postage. In a situation like this, would ADC be allowed to just add the additional amount of postage to the Media Mail rate on the returned packages, or do they lose the $3.61 and have to also pay the full Ground rate? For reference, the box is 12x8x8, and listed as weighing 3.0 pounds. From Highland, NY to my home in MN, the rates are $11.14 for USPS Ground/$3.61 for Media Mail. I guess it "worked out" in my case -- they saved $7.53, and I actually got my product, but I'm uneasy about a company that would try to get away with this. I can understand that the money may have run out and they may feel they're forced to take this risk but not only do I think it's inadvisable to mess with the USPS, it's a pretty lousy thing to do to your customers who have already been waiting for almost 18 months. Also, inspecting my mailing label brought up something else -- was anyone else issued more than one label? There were two on my USPS account; one from the 14th that's still in "pre-shipping" and one from the 15th that arrived yesterday... stuck over someone else's "pre-shipping" label from the 14th... with their name and address still pretty visible. I'm guessing my original label has either been sent to them, or maybe someone else? Not exactly the Equifax breach, but it still feels sloppy and inconsiderate, at the very least. (Not as bad as waiting, waiting, waitingwaitingwaiting and then getting a shipping notice! and then... no... returned to sender for willfully not putting enough postage on. I'm just being grumpy and nitpicky.) I'm hoping that everyone who is still waiting, gets their packages ASAP and that what's inside is so fantastic, it blows us all away and makes up for the long and frustrating wait, and renews hope for the remaining 2 cases.

Generally, when a piece is returned for postage, the mailer only needs to affix the difference between the qualifying rate and the rate initially claimed.
Shipping for this product has been very amateurish.

I would give the company a little slack. This is their first time doing a mass physical mailing. We don't know who they hired to do it, but we do know that person isn't a brain surgeon, since there's no way that the contents are even close to fitting into the category of media mail.

Mine arrived without incident so I should not complain. But I wonder how much slack we will be asked to give these folks as the two year mark will probably pass before the entire project is complete (assuming it will be). I get distinct impression that this is a ”side project” for those involved and their lack of communication since the beginning doesn’t illustrate love and care with what they’re doing. (Check out the folks from Sumulacra in contrast). I honestly hope the puzzle/gameplay of all THREE games makes up for everyone’s continued frustration.

I wouldn't champion the folks at Simulacra just yet ... this is also their first time out, and we have no idea if they will meet their July deadline.

Thurs night and still haven't been charged and still no shipment. Though I did get another email from Shelby reiterating that shipments would go out this week and next. I'm fairly certain mine is now at the very back of the line. I also have this email. Mine is very abrupt and quite unfriendly really (doesn't begin Dear or signed off "Thnks For Backing and being Patient" or anything) but I thought this was because I finally broke silence and moaned on the comments section of the campaign.

How much did you guys pay for postage? My postage charge was £65 - for that I almost Santa to personally drop it off on my doorstep on 25th, know what I mean?

The discrepancy between the artistic quality and the company is incredible here. I haven't really had the chance to deep dive into Armchair yet, but it's very well designed and has a huge amount of content. But Media Mail?! The delays and lack of communication? Remarkably bad, in fact arguably the worst of any company I've dealt with in this niche. Thegenii, while I agree with the possibility of Simulacra having issues (in fact, I'd say delays are the norm for Kickstarter projects), they've been comparatively very responsive and have clearly planned much of their experience out already.

No recollection of what the postage was.

.......and I still haven't been charged, and still no shipment. Of course nothing is going out Sunday or Monday. And I don't imagine they are making people work over the holiday stuffing puzzles into boxes. And I also doubt they will ship until the charge has gone thru the system and they have the money in their hands. So if the charge goes thru Tues or Wed, then possible shipment Thurs or Fri, fighting for freight space with all the delayed Christmas presents and returns.........
Who thought this was a good idea? Cause whoever it was should be ****. Whatever goodwill they may have generated by shipping the week before Christmas has been wiped out but this cluster****.

Much as I'm pleased for everyone who has their already....no, scratch that, I'm not pleased. I know, I know, when it's finally in my hands and in future months I'll forget or forgive about the last eighteen months of incompetence, but really...I wouldn't trust these guys to organise a p!ss up in a brewery at this point.

Mine has shown up in Detroit. Odds are VERY slim I'll see it tomorrow. Probably shortly after Christmas, though.
For the record, I believe that mine is one of the ones that made it through the system with Media Mail postage, but was mishandled by the USPS. I've seen many, many packages fall off the radar in Detroit in my 21 years working in mail.
But I've also received word that packages shipped with insufficient postage and held by the USPS should be released as additional postage payment was made yesterday.
