The Post Office delivered mine in a special run at about 6 PM tonight. But first I must walk the dog.

Since I know not everyone gets these updates sent to them, here's today's update sans pictures. Sounds sort of promising, but it does mean that we're going to be getting the other two boxes a full two years after ordering them.
Kidnapped Crossworder shipping out to backers! Dear Backers,
We’ve shipped out the first 300 Mysterious Cases! We have been shipping them by date that orders were received, so that those who ordered earlier will receive their Mysterious Cases first. We believe this is the fairest way to send orders out.
For the last several weeks, we have been assembling and shipping seven days a week to make sure to get you your cases in time for the holiday season!
International backers: We have been running into some issues shipping international orders in bulk. We are working with our local post office to get all the customs forms in perfect order so that we can send you your packages in the coming weeks with as little headache as possible on everyone’s part. International shipping is very new to us, and we want to make sure we get it right so you get your package with nothing lost in the mail!
For orders in the New Year: We are just about out of stock of our first run of The Kidnapped Crossworder, and we’ve already begun the process of scheduling a second run. There may be a delay as we wait for new sets of all of the components to come in, especially because in the first run we learned that a few aspects of our production process will need some adjustment. For example, our printer needed a longer lead time for printing than we were originally expecting. We’ll be sure to keep you posted about the progress of this second run!
Future Dates: We have received many inquiries about release dates for the Druids’ Catacomb and the Star-Crossed Scientists. Since each Case has over 100+ items in it, we’ve discovered that putting together each Case is more like creating a full book than anything else, and writing + producing books is a time consuming process! We’re getting everything in order and aiming for a release in the Summer of 2018, and will keep you posted about our progress as time goes by.
Thank you all so much for being a part of this project, and for your patience as we navigate this new terrain of manufacturing high-quality products in large numbers!
Happy Holidays! The Armchair Detective Company

Another update from ADC in the email just now. I'm sure it's also up on the Indiegogo site. For me the big takeaway was the online content for Kidnapped Crossworder is up now (according to the email - I haven't looked myself). My IPad, which hates me doesn't allow me to copy and paste, so I'll have to let you folks rely on some other kind person to do that. No word on possible shipping Windows for Druids and Scientists.

Wow. I just went to the indiegogo page and checked the comments, cause I like to feel others sharing my pain. A lot of people were confused by the last update. And it seems many, many have yet to receive their Crossworders box. I don't think they'll do anything more like this. It has to be as painful for them as it has been and is for us.

A new update today on the Indiegogo page regarding the current status of all three projects.
I think they are trying to be realistic in their current update, but the takeaway (at least for me) is that I think we'll be lucky to see The Druids' Catacomb by September, and The Star Crossed Scientists by December or January.
As noted earlier, they don't seem to have really sorted each detail in a concrete way before launching the Indiegogo campaign. I've done large projects before, one of which included two books in a slipcase (printed in China and weighing 20 pounds) which included three magic tricks, instructions for them translated from Japanese, and four DVDs which we created and edited ourselves. Had the whole thing planned and it worked out perfectly. We were a few months beyond our target date, but nothing like this. I can't even remember how long ago I backed Armchair Detective's campaign!

The update that ADC posted to their Indiegogo page is disappointing. Their attention to detail is paramount at this stage, but they're still prototyping the Druid's Catacomb boxes...
I'm hoping for Christmas delivery again with this next box.

Has anyone noted that the third and most elaborate of the "cases," The Star Crossed Scientists, is no longer available to purchase on the Indiegogo page?
If it doesn't become available until a year from now (which seems likely at this point), does that make it three years to deliver what we originally paid for?

I think they would have been much wiser to do a Kickstarter for a single box at a time, not starting sales of the second box until the first was shipping, etc. It looks like from the update that they're still designing the third box.

Of all of the various experiences and artifacts that I've gotten over the years, the ADC boxes and items from Crossworder really stand out on my main display shelf in my living room. In fact, I hosted a dinner party last weekend that had some people who had never been to my house before, and they at first ignored the more impressive artifacts from the MPC and asked about what the ornate wood boxes on the shelf were from. Yes, I'm as disgruntled as everyone else about the business practices and extreme delays, but I'm still holding out hope that when the products eventually arrive (hopefully before the end of the decade), they'll be as well designed as Crossworder was.
