The number of library options was to help in case this happened, I believe. Hopefully if yours was disturbed, one of the others may still be okay. Anyone have a contact in Japan? haha Maybe next time theGenii goes he can check it out.

I'm in San Diego, so could check at Central Library if nobody has made it there yet.

So let's get Volume III's last puzzle solved before the last issue of Volume IV reaches us! Who can get to one of the libraries on the list? Post which library and when you can get there. Unfortunately I'm a plane ride away from the closest library or I would be making a beeline. If you need a hint as to which books you should be looking for...I'm sure a cleverly worded hint could be given....

I was going to travel to Edmonton but learned that library closed last December. Their stock was distributed amongst the other public libraries so I have a local friend of a friend looking for me. My hopes are not high.

Ok theoretically I have the 4th one, however there was no slip of paper, it was drawn onto the page, I'm guessing by someone else that had found it. can you post a picture of the page?

I have a friend who can check for me in Madison. My son in Japan won't be able to check until he goes back in March, though. Too bad we didn't have him fly out through Tokyo this year, but maybe he'll know someone willing to go for us sooner than that.

In case the page Katalia has isn't what we needed, I have someone checking the library in Oklahoma City too. And a handful of friends in DC might be able to hit up the Library of Congress.

DO we have a list of libraries to hand? I know a couple of people in Tokyo I might be able to call in a favour and ask one of them to check something out?

Katalia’s is I’m almost certain correct. Don’t worry about any libraries on the fourth list for now. Still going to go to one of the ones on the fourth list tomorrow to confirm.

In the fourth or fifth page of this thread, there’s a link to a Google Map with all of the libraries named and pinned. The one in Japan is the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Library.

Ok theoretically I have the 4th one, however there was no slip of paper, it was drawn onto the page, I'm guessing by someone else that had found it. While I shudder at the thought, do we think all of the books have something drawn in them? I can't imagine someone found something in a book and thought "I'm taking this, but let me just doodle it in here just in case someone needs it later." It would help with one of the issues I had in searching for things though...

I can confirm that they are not supposed to have things actually drawn on the pages, but it certainly makes the puzzle more permanent, as offputting as it may be to have defaced the books!

Is there a reason we aren't just posting our findings, whether they are helpful or not? As someone not in a library area, I'd be interested in seeing how this pans out instead of waiting for a "ta-da" moment when it's all assembled. But maybe that's just me.
