I received the $50 refund and also the $50 credit. The credit I received is definitely related to Vulcan Dragon Tooth as a concierge emailed me prior to the credit showing up: "More importantly, I was terribly sorry to hear about your disappointment. Your extension and understanding were greatly appreciated and I am terribly sorry we have let you down. Although I recognize that it I cannot undue the situation that arose with your Dragon Tooth, I have gone ahead and applied a further $50 in credit to your membership account and hope that you can accept this along with my best wishes and sincere apology." Interesting - did you ask for your order to be cancelled? Or did they indicate that they would cancel it? I asked for the refund as I still want the tooth. So they applied the refund but also gave the credit.

To clarify, MPC offered a complete refund with cancellation, or a $50 refund and a delay. I believe jackoat67 requested the $50 refund and delay, not the complete refund and cancel. I'm not aware of anyone who cancelled for a full refund.

So they applied the refund but also gave the credit. Makes you wonder if the store credit is a token of appreciation for our continued patience on the matter, or an apology for not being able to deliver the Curio at all. In any case, I expect we will hear from them today. Usually I receive their replies and missives around 4-6 p.m. CET. I'm not aware of anyone who cancelled for a full refund. Of course not, that way is a life without a Dragon Tooth.

Makes you wonder if the store credit is a token of appreciation for our continued patience on the matter, or an apology for not being able to deliver the Curio at all. According to an eMail from The Curator, production issues have arisen that make the release of the Vulcan Dragon Tooth unfeasible for the time being. As a result, we should all receive full refunds, and have been provided with an additional $ 50,00 in store credit to apologize for the cancellation. The Company hope to re-release the Curio later this year.

Only a 36 hour lag between the cancellation of the orders, and actually communicating about it with us.

Bummer. I appreciate them pro-actively apologizing with the $50 credit though. I'm also glad they refuse to put out crap.

Absolutely. A dragon tooth with, say, air bubbles would not be cool. Although I suppose they could make them cavities, from eating particularly sweet peasants.

Maybe the response was so huge they simply ran out of toothpaste in the city of Toronto...

I received the following e-mail this morning:
My dearest Michael,
This past year has been one of great highs and crushing lows for us. Under the Ceiba Tree and The Lost Treasure of John Augur represent our high points, but, unfortunately, the Vulcan Dragon Tooth has been disappointing and troublesome.
The issues that I emailed you about in December have only become worse, and what appeared at first to be a minor quality control issue grew into a systemic problem with the manufacture of the tooth. At this time, we simply are unwilling to release the product in its current form, as it does not meet the quality we demand of a product of this stature. We hope to rerelease the Vulcan Dragon Tooth in the second half of this year, but we do not have any accurate estimate of when it will be ready.
I realize that many of you have already received the refund of $50 from the previous quality issue; I am now letting you know that we have refunded you the remainder of the purchase price. In addition, we have provided you with a $50 store credit to help apologize for failing you so completely.
I do hope you do not think less of us for making this very difficult decision. Aside from the Dragon Tooth, we have a number of exciting plans for 2017 and have taken steps to ensure this type of tragic turn does not happen again. Of course, should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me, or Member Services, at concierge@mysteriouspackage.com.
Your servant,
The Curator at The Mysterious Package Company

Long email from The Curator confirming the cancellation of Dragon's Tooth due to manufacturing issues. Said they might try to bring it back in the second half of the year.

Absolutely. A dragon tooth with, say, air bubbles would not be cool. Although I suppose they could make them cavities, from eating particularly sweet peasants. Ah, those sickly sweet peasants. Well, I do appreciate the $50 credit and we'll see what happens later this year. Life without a dragon tooth would simply be too bleak.

Well, I'm hoping they refund me the full amount, not the amount less the 20% discount that I applied.
