Hmm ... looks like they're not going to refund me even as much as the discounted price.
Vulcan Dragon Tooth: $199.99 Shipping: $19.99 Tax: $25.99 Discount (20%): -$40.00 Total: $205.97 US = $285.80 CAN (at the time).
Not ready for Christmas apology: -$50.00 US = -$64.92 CAN (at the time). Cancellation apology store credit: -$50.00 US = -$66.47 CAN (today's rates).
Cancellation refund: -$162.29 US = -$215.74 CAN (today's rates).
Am I correct is assuming that they should not be including those two apologies as part of the refund? Should I not be getting back an additional $205.97 - $162.29 = $43.68 US ($58.07 CAN) as well as reinstatement of my 20% coupon? Have I erred here?

I sent an email to The Curator yesterday asking for clarification on credits and payments.

I thought that they would refund the sum we did actually pay, but the $ 50 refund and store credit were one and the same, and that the store credit was granted so we would still enjoy the benefits of the partial refund even in the face of a full cancellation.
They should definitely reinstate your discount from The Century Beast, but if I were in your shoes, I should contact member services to make sure they had thought of that, too.

I was charged in US dollars and was not charged tax. My assumption is that the $50 store credit is above and beyond the refund, but that the $50 already refunded to my credit card is part of the full refund.
It has yet to be posted to my card, but I am assuming $199.99 + $19.99 shipping = $219.98 - the $50.00 already refunded = $169.98 still to be refunded.
The rate of exchange shouldn't enter into it with my transaction, as I paid in US dollars.

I only put the US/Canadian dollars in because although the MPC prices are now in US, all of my banking transactions show as Canadian so I have conversion rates to factor in. So you wouldn't consider the $50 "inconvenience refund as an apology" (as the Curator phrased it) to be an over and above amount? Interesting that you weren't charged the tax.

I view it as "Sorry we're late, here's $50 back". Followed by "We can't deliver a product that meets our standards. Here's the rest of your money back, plus $50 store credit."

I would certainly ask about them reinstating the 20% discount code. Got a quick response back from one of the concierges. She claimed that the coupon has now been re-instated and I should be able to use it as before. Plus, I *finally* got a response back about my missing C&C issue. Response times vary wildly from overnight to over three weeks (with repeated naggings).

I didn't get the first $50 credit until January 3. I'm sure it'll come.

My refund has been received.
If yours hadn't been received, it would probably merit a follow-up email.
