I have some ideas, but nothing coherent. The "pyramid" symbol for this puzzle has some similarities to the symbol for The Illuminati. The vault symbol for this puzzle is an "eye" which is also similar to symbols used for The Illuminati.
"Mangled Words" has the phrase "New World Order" which could be an Illuminati reference.
The puzzle description mentions "government hybrids". I searched for conspiracies related to government hybrids and one of the first results was about the Illuminati. Apparently they created a race of reptilian-human hybrids. If you dig into this you will find some references to the "Montauk Project" as being involved with creating these hybrids. "Montauk" was a word in the word search puzzle. They also claim to use movies and TV to influence humanity. Three of the movies mentioned as examples are in the "Word Stack" puzzle.
The answer is not "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" So, those are the clues Ive noticed, but nothing leads me to a 29 letter phrase yet. Woah.

Does anyone think it might be connected to the Home Conspiracy Kit? The 3x3 grid is the same.. I have got something but I am unsure it is relevant at all.. If you unscramble the flags on the conspiracy kit it spells "Blamed JFK" or "JFK Bedlam"
also Wearing a thin scarlet or crimson string as a type of talisman is a Jewish folk custom as a way to ward off misfortune brought about by the "evil eye"
Very good thoughts!

So I have another crazy notion that will probably lead nowhere. The YDS puzzle originally drove us towards one of the ads in the paper. Another daytime lock used the actual answer for the nighttime lock as the tool to decipher the solution. So maybe we want to do that again. In this case, we got a certain word that is pointing me at the Seaside At Home ad on page 8. That ad mentions Niagara, which we have plenty of source material for from last issue. Of course, I have no idea what to do with it.... I wonder if it has to do with the anonymous someone mentioned when we were directed to a spot via our new Teardrop friend. Then again, only one puzzle symbol was shown.

has anyone else thought anymore about the poison symbol on the BIG CHEF AD, as we are looking for a mix of the YDS and the EYE; and the nighttime answer came from the ad maybe we should be looking that way for a clue to the daytime vault. Maybe there's a type of poison that is spelled with a lengthy sum of letters?

A helpful nudge, if I may... I've only just bullied my way into some progress today, so here we go:
Do you notice anything that the second set of idioms (which is to say, the last halves written) have in common with one another?
And if we have two sets of idioms, both of which are split in half, is there a set of half idioms missing? Almost, as it were, "unsaid"?

As far as the "missing half" if you take the missing words and spread out the contractions you get 33 words... maybe referencing the 33 letters?
No anagrams have shown up for me. Thoughts?

They are all a bit pessimistic? What else have you noticed? They are similar in any number of ways, but only one that counts

Do you notice anything that the second set of idioms (which is to say, the last halves written) have in common with one another? Hmm I have 29 - 30 if I interpret one word as one.. And if we have two sets of idioms, both of which are split in half, is there a set of half idioms missing? Almost, as it were, "unsaid"?
of this I have 33 but possibly not enough vowels..

I'm guessing that you're overthinking it. You're also going to be looking for words, not letters. Which makes sense, since the MPC couldn't control the letters in well known idioms.

Ok. I think I just need one more push.
I've written down all the second halves that weren't used in the initial puzzle. I've also tried to put words in another order, but haven't got to anything yet.
Maybe a hit at which words to use, or which words to eliminate?

Maybe a hit at which words to use, or which words to eliminate? Find the numbers. Look at what idioms you haven't used. Some numbers are not spelled normally.... but it's how they sound that COUNTS.

Cheers. That's exactly what I needed. I was on the right track, but I would have had to do a lot of bulldozing in order to get there.

I'm still lost even after reading this thread. I've written down the second half of the front idioms and am not seeing the connection. I must be a bit dense...
