Yeah I know, but I thought I might be able to convert those 29 words into letters (1st or last letter of each word, etc).

It's also throwing me that the "light" padlocks have no spaces - think that's just to make them tougher, or are they really ~30-character-long strings?

That was 29 words in the post you quoted, it was part of the ideas in the solving process. Pay no attention to the 29 behind the curtain. You have 33 letters in your lock.
