Below is a basic outline of what is in the first mailing of Risen. Please read no further if you wish it to remain a surprise. A cardboard envelope containing 3 items
1. A single sheet of paper folded in half from Taddle Creek Shipping addressed to the receiver. If describes who they are and why they are mailing you things.
2. Sepia tone postcard with a single word in red typed cyrillic on the back. Can be translated with google translate.
3. A smaller stamped envelope with a letter explaining in more detail why you are the one to receive these mailings. The name of a place is mentioned and can be researched.

Send this one to my Best Friend for her birthday. Waiting to see what she thinks of it.

Some parents may want a word with her after that.
How far along is the experience? Did you get a good first response?

So far so good. She's two mailings in. And the way it's incorporated won't be cause for concern with the parents.

God help me. Got this for my wife; she read over it took one look at the first mailing, called me over and said “look at this scam” and got ready to toss it. Leave it to a law enforcement wife to be suspicious of everything.

Mistaking MPC mailings for junk mail or a scam of some sort is not uncommon.

The Pledge arrived today... my friend immediately recognized it as a sort of game or promotion thereof. She is hugely intrigued, and expects that she will at some point receive an offer to purchase more elaborate items. She did manage to follow the historical references without stumbling across the Experience itself in one of those cursed "unboxing" films or such. I believe we are off to a terrific start!

2nd Delivery: I feel they over reached with the blood… She is the daughter of a Blood Spatter analyst and the wife of a Crime Scene Technician; that was the solid give away for her sadly. That and as a prior archivist, she began to look closely at the paper, and stated that it is not the correct type of paper for that era. Lol On the upside, she seems intrigued by the story now

I don't think anyone is actually going to accept "Risen" as fact, particularly the more they learn about it. But the item in the crate is loads of fun. With her family background, she should enjoy it.

I just received the final mailing of Risen today, and it definitely does not disappoint. Unbelievably well done item in the crate; it actually gets better the closer you scrutinize it. Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to remove the cork and remove the item itself? It certainly seems loose enough to be possible to do.

Leave it to a law enforcement wife to be suspicious of everything. I got this for my husband for his birthday and he did the same thing with the first mailing ... he crumpled it up and tossed it... I almost choked him! I had to dig it out when he wasn't looking and hide it until the next mailing came in .. lol

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to remove the cork and remove the item itself? It certainly seems loose enough to be possible to do. We looked at it pretty closely and it appears that the item is suspended in a tinted, solidified glue.. it looks like liquid but I'm pretty sure it's a solid resin of some sort..
