My group finally had time to go through the box this past weekend. Thanks to a little help from these forums, we were able to figure out the main puzzle. My overall thoughts on the experience: it was great! I loved the "treasure" website, unboxing the crate, the trinkets, and the big puzzle. I do have one gripe with the ending: The volume level of the final video(s) was HORRIBLE. I played it from my cellphone and my group could hardly hear certain parts of it. Part of me thinks I might have missed something extra, so I'm going to go back through all of the paperwork/newspaper articles and see if I missed anything. Question for others: Other than the moon dial puzzle, are there any other puzzles/hidden things that come from the paperwork or is it all just extra fluff? As far as I could tell, there's nothing extra per se, though there are plenty of hints about the nature and history of certain elements of the puzzles, such as the seals representing stars in the constellations and the star pieces of the dial being mentioned in the blog post. It's mostly fluff, though I think rather good fluff. My wife and I have just started on the first mailing of this (xmas present for her). Which blog posts are you referring to here, just out of curiosity? Also, it would be helpful to know what is achievable prior to the 2nd mailing's arrival, if possible. Thanks!

The blog post is just one of the pieces of paper in the experience; it's not actually online. Not sure what you mean by achievable. The last thing in the first mailing is submitting a complaint about missing the performance that your ticket was for and then filling out a form.

Alright I have to ask for a hint on step 8 of the scroll. I can't figure out how to follow the Alignments on the backs of the 5 pages. I thought you were supposed to move the stone from one pictured planet/moon combination to the next, passing through the center at one point, and starting from whichever end would let you go all the way without getting stuck. But some of the listed connections are impossible, no matter where you start from. Have I messed up the dial somehow, or is there some other way to interpret the backs of these pages I haven't thought of? Help greatly appreciated! I think I have everything else figured out except for this one thing.

I've just purchased the Hastur experience for a friend. Does she have to "solve" the 1.5 digital experience to trigger the main mailing? Or does it get automatically mailed some length of time after the 1st mailing?

Thanks. Can someone provide a general description of the 1st mailing so my friend's husband can keep an eye out for it and make sure it doesn't get thrown out with the junk mail?

I am totally stuck on step 8. I have the moon dial set up and the bowl aligned, but I just don't understand what I am supposed to do with the info on the back of the scrolls.
Any and all help is much appreciated!

To everyone confused about Step 8, it's very hard to explain via text, but some pointers... - The alignment of the bowl has nothing to do with this step, though of course the correct alignment of the bowl is essential for a different step. - Before following the path on the back of the pages, you need the dial to be oriented correctly (not just put together in the correct order from a previous step). The orientation will be different for every page, and why that is is perhaps a bit too much for these pointers. A hint could be, is there anything you can find on the front of the pages that might reference the moon dial in some way? - If oriented and then followed correctly, there should be only one possible path for each page. - Finally, make sure to draw the path you're following on a separate piece of paper; the path will lead you to something else.

I've just finished the experience, and the ending freaked me out a little, as I'm alone at home and it's dark outside! I have to disagree about the ending payoff not being great, as I thought it was a fun way to end it. But then again, it took me a long time to solve the whole thing after a few tries and getting it wrong, so perhaps I'm just elated at solving it!

Feel free to DM me if you need specific help with this, like if you want to check your answers for example. More than happy to help.

Hello, all! It’s been a while. Question: Do we need to do “King in Yellow” before we start this experience? I’m trying to decide between this and a couple of other experiences since we’re now “sheltering in place” and might need a distraction so that we don’t all strangle each other.

No, you do not need to do King in Yellow first. King in Yellow is a fun story and definitely goes along nicely, but if you are looking for a good story AND a fun activity, this one will be better suited for shelter time
