Alright so super spoilers ahead, my thought on the entire experience. so I loved every bit of it up until the final website. I loved the artifacts, I loved the ritual, the ephemera it was all fantastic. I personally just felt like either video chosen on the website at the end cheapened the over all experience. I was hoping we would get more story/ online documents to investigate and read through. Similar to the burried puppet, instead it just felt like the video gave a crappy ending and just left me with a handful more question than anything. Overall the experience is still awesome though. And I can’t wait to display everything. I guess I’ll take this time to mention that I liked the original two website, the second SRDA website being my favorite interactive piece to an experience yet. While I haven't tackled Hastur yet (likely later today, and I'll be sure to post my thoughts here afterwards), I'm surprised to hear your thoughts about Buried Puppet. I loved the online epilogue of Buried Puppet and found it very satisfying both in terms of the puzzle chain to get to it and how it tied Weeping Book and Buried Puppet together. It certainly left some stuff open-ended, but only in the sense that there could easily be a third Experience with the same characters and theme.

Sorry, I misread what you were saying. Interesting; now I'm very curious to see how Hastur ends and compare it to Buried Puppet.

I received this package today and I've spent basically all day banging my head up against the wall against a puzzle. I would love any direction that someone could give me: I don't understand how to orient the bowl, how to orient or position the moon dial. I read over everything in the box three times and I don't feel like I have any direction on these things. Can anyone give me a hint or guidance?

What is the reason they gave you a flat tray with clay in it?

I'm past that, I've already rolled out the impressions and translated the language. I'm on the ritual step.

Help under the spoiler when it comes to bowl orientation, the ritual step mentions that all 8 symbols are realms and that the king waits between two realms. On the back of the king other than the translation runes are 2 realms symbols, orient the bowl on the lines so that he (at the top of the paper) is between those two symbols on the bowl. As for the moon dial, a website screenshot and a newspaper article show you the way the dial should be arranged and positioning is based off of the position or specific moon phases mentioned within the 5 pages of the stories. You treat the king as north and then rotate the moon dial as you would a compass to match directions

I got an email on Friday saying it was coming, and lo and behold it was on my doorstep this morning! I've only opened it up briefly, and taken a quick look at the contents. I'm not sure when I'll have time to go over it in detail. There's five pages of stories? I didn't see that.

I have the dial correctly assembled, and I have the first page new moon facing northwest as instructed. I begin with the stone on the moon and I can't get more than one step on the indicated path before getting stopped. What am I doing wrong?

Just received my main mailing today though I had not received an email advising me of its imminent delivery. Talk about a double surprise: first at obtaining it out of the blue and second from the sheer volume of content so far.
Had plenty of errands to run this evening so I didn't look at the "puzzles" and merely focused on the "narrative" aspects of the experience, plunging into the atmosphere of it. Needless to say, I get far too engrossed in such things.
That being said, the use of HMS at one point did somewhat irk me because I don't believe it to be the proper designation (though I could be wrong).

It arrived today! And the crate is sitting in the middle of the room taunting me. I'm not sure I'm going to have the leisure to enjoy it for a few more days. So tempting...

Wow, well I just finished Hastur, and I'm really impressed by the puzzle design. I agree with eclosis about the very end being a bit lackluster, but everything leading up to it was excellent and super elaborate. I would argue that elements of this remind me of some of the better Curios and Conundrums puzzles, complete with very clever uses of curios. Between this and Buried Puppet, whoever their puzzle designer is deserves some serious kudos. I'm also more than happy to help with hints; feel free to DM me (and also a big shoutout to eclosis for helping me get through a bizarre early hangup).
