Well, not to "defend" the MPC exactly, but this is sort of following up on a post Genii made on the Kickstarter page about improved customer service. I needed a replacement certificate of authenticity for Dragon Tooth as mine got damaged in transit. I emailed them, and not only did I get a response in a couple of hours asking for a picture and my shipping address, but when I emailed them back with that info, they responded in about ten minutes and confirmed that a replacement would be on the way soon. The difference in customer service, even from when I first discovered them and it was the original crew, is very striking and again a sign of an upward trend for them after three recent successful products in a row.

I bought the Vulcan Dragon Tooth, and a few days after it arrived (or a few weeks), they were offering it at a discount. I wrote to them and pointed out the inequity and received the discount. Amazing! It's been years since I've seen that type of customer service from the MPC.

Any backers care to share what the last "backer only" update consists of? Might help push a few of us off of the fence if it's cool at all.

For backers only
The conflict between light and dark has taken many shapes, and many names. One specific battle has been especially difficult to trace or date. We know it takes place in cycles and depends on the alignment of celestial bodies.
There are a group of devotees who follow a dark King. For as far back as we know, they have been on a single-minded mission to usher Him in from His beyond to ours. They have been foiled at every cycle by an equally single-minded effort from anonymous watchmen.
Now, as we approach a new alignment, we pray these watchmen are standing guard and reinforcing their numbers. It is time to fight, and time for you to make a choice. Will you take a stand?

Helped a lot, didn't it?

Wow. Not sure why they couldn't have just included that in the initial write-up. Hell...I think I could have written that myself based on the two previous experiences in this "cycle".

Well, they hit the second stretch goal, so we're getting the second "interactive" artifact. Somehow I don't think they're going to hit an extra $50,000 in 30 hours for the next stretch goal.

Did anyone notice that they've changed the text of all the pledge packages to specify that the play you are receiving a ticket for is The King in Yellow?
I haven't looked at the page for a week (damn flu) but noticed that today, and pleased to see the second stretch goal hit.
Also, the $6,000 pledge package which included all current MPC experiences vanished, to be replaced by a different $4,000 package.

New update for backers only.
“An update of Great Urgency concerning you,” the headline states Posted by Mysterious Package Company Jul 3, 2019
For backers only
You click to expand the update and read more. The first few lines make no sense. You have no idea what any of this is about.
You recall previous updates warning you against a certain madness, one that roots in the mind and festers, then spreads. But what does that have to do with you?
Has someone finally learned your secret — the one you’ve been hiding for years?
Maybe.
You think of the poor souls who saw ‘The King in Yellow’. You think about how that play affected them — their eyes like two black stars, tears running down their cheeks like so much rain into the lake of Hali. You tell yourself this is different. You haven’t gone mad.
And yet. How many sleepless nights? How many masks do you wear to maintain your grasp on reality — or some facsimile thereof?
You think all these thoughts in quick succession, then shake them away. It’s probably just a campaign update, you think (you hope).
It’s not, though. It is a warning. And now there are only a few lines left. You read them quickly, your eyes half glancing at a word before moving on to the next, hoping to find meaning, perhaps even absolution…
But there is no such thing. It is almost over. The final sentences reveal nothing but the feeling of a mystery unsolved — thinking of that dark secret and the havoc it has wreaked on your mind.
You rest your eyes. It is then that you see him — moving toward you on the dark lake.

Don't feel bad. These things are designed to wear down your resistance. It's a form of psychological and economic terrorism.

$50 for shipping!?

Yeah, they warned that shipping would likely be expensive (imagine if they'd hit some of their other stretch goals). It's hard to know, but they did say that the Artifacts would be quite heavy compared to their usual items (fifteen pounds for just the base experience and not counting the stretch goal Artifact that they hit). I also found the way they did the Gallery Ticket cost very odd, with it initially costing $999.99 and then giving you a...$999.99 discount.

Have they sent the shipping info out? I haven't seen anything yet... Yup, an email came in yesterday from "Concierge at the Mysterious Package Company" asking you to "choose your Hastur seat", which effectively means confirm your order and your shipping details.
