Yawn. Another King in Yellow experience, my wife and I were hyped for something new... no matter how good the experience is, they’ve done king in yellow to death.
They cancelled the one experience I was really interested in about the signal and the initial write up for the cultist experience wasn’t explicit that it was more king in yellow.
Disappointing

According to Wikipedia (yes, I know they aren’t the most accurate) Hastur is the King in Yellow. I had no use for The King in Yellow experience Nd I have no use for this one either. I may consider future experiences if those who are buying into this one express sheer joy and adulation for this one, once they have it in hand. MPC has not been impressing me lately.

In trying to sound "mysterious" the entire Kickstarter campaign comes across as cocky and abrasive. "Trust us... or don't.... f**k you." But it seems to be working. They've reached their goal.

Their goal was set so low, they would have made it just with pre-orders without going to Kickstarter at all. And clearly they've learned a lesson. By promising nothing, they can't be accused of moving the goalposts when they finally deliver something.

It appears that the great majority of their current customers are not aware of the earlier days of the company, or the quality of the earlier experiences. There are enough fish in the sea that they can (I guess) afford to burn bridges.
I'm still trying to imagine what a 15 pound artifact looks like!

They're starting to introduce stretch goals now. First one is a free challenge coin.

Part of me certainly agrees, but I also sort of enjoy seeing how MPC deals with different puzzle situations with the same or similar story. The first King In Yellow was almost akin to the Weeping Book, and the second more like the mainstream experiences. With a new big investor in the company, I'm hoping they can take this in a surprising direction! (though if it really is just...The king in yellow play goes on. Now all your souls are gone... I'll be a little disappointed)

New stretch goal: if they hit 200K, they’ll include a second artifact.

New stretch goal: if they hit 200K, they’ll include a second artifact. ”interactive artifact” , I remember the last time that was a stretch goal and how that turned out

But at this point, I have no interest in increasing my pledge at all, so all of these stretch goals are effectively a bonus. I guess I’ll take a “free” artifact and have zero expectations?

New stretch goal: if they hit 200K, they’ll include a second artifact. That'll jack up the shipping charges...
