“Unphased by these events, it’s business-as-usual for Mayor Shallenhock’s re-election campaign.”
Grrrrr...Homophones will get ya every time.

I really don't care for the emails. I like that MPC is trying to engage us...but sending out emails that are supposed to be coming from the 1940s breaks the immersive experience. Plus...since this is supposed to be a one mailing experience and I bought it as a gift....I'm now stuck with having to print out a bunch of modern emails to include in the wrapped present..which is really going to spoil the effect for the recipient. Now I guess I will have to try to re-create them and make them look period. *sigh*

I also dislike the fact that whoever is writing these emails doesn't use American English. Why would someone in the 1940s in Los Angeles write the word "councilors" as "councillors"? and "rumours" instead of "rumors"
and another line that wasn't proofread, "If you hear a code you are unfamiliar with it, it is probably not meant for you. Disregard it and erase the memory of ever hearing it.
If you hear a code you are unfamiliar with, it is probably not meant for you....is the way it should read.
The attention to detail is certainly lacking and I have to wonder about the quality of the product that will actually be produced.

Perhaps the full-time writer needs a full-time copy editor?

Every writer needs a copy editor. In this case it's a simple matter of proofreading, which (if it's being done) needs to be performed by someone with a better grasp of the rules of the English language than the writer.

Many writers make this error. I just edited the same correction on a piece last week.
But, that's the point. There is no one proofreading their material who knows up from down on the screwdriver of the English language.

I just tried the free LanguageTool proofing addon for Google Docs, and it caught the unphased/unfazed error (as well as the non-English spellings). One could even improve quality without hiring a human copy-editor.

I'm cheating because I don't want to create a new post and this is from their facebook, but a reverse image search of their latest photo of Clara Rose reveals some interesting results and some stock imagery.
