It has been a while since I went to the MPC site. They have a new splash screen advertising their summer sale.
The latest sale includes the Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb. Shipped all at once in one crate for the price of $199 plus $25 shipping....."while quantities last". So it seems that they are not going to restock this experience.
They also have add-ons for sale. The challenge coin is now going for $19.99...AND they are also offering the pewter obelisk from Volume IV for $10.

I am quite miffed this morning. The crate for HftFT is scheduled to arrive next week. What do I see when I open my email this morning? The contents of the crate, splashed across my screen. I sent an email to our dear Curator, stressing the importance of the M in MPC. Sigh.

Now it's all part of their marketing images.

They did have an envelope marked "Spoiler" that you could click on, which would reveal images of all the items. Not all of the experiences had the images, but the early releases did.

Right, but those were never the most recent experiences, only the earliest ones. HftFT, along with RotC is still their latest experience (I'm not counting the Taako thing).

Clicked the link and saw a screen that showcased the entire contents of the mailing without even logging in. I miss the days of secrecy, where you could come to the forum and ask for an opinion of the experience but still have some mystery to it all. Sigh. Though, I really have not even bothered looking at the MPC in months since they haven't actually put out any new products since late fall(?) and then spent the beginning of the year either hinting they might put out a new product or clearing their shelves.

I think it's obvious the company doesn't care about anything but getting rid of what they consider to be "dead stock."

I think at this point it is pretty obvious that MPC has stopped creating "Experiences". The Hunt for the Forgotten Tomb and Rise of the Cult were the last. If and when Cult goes the same route as Hunt (i.e. on sale and all in one shipment) I will break down and buy it. Just for nostalgia...to have a copy of the last Experience ever created by the MPC.

Cult is good! Particularly if you already have King in Yellow. The artifact is extremely creepy.

They're even reporting limited quantities of Taako's Correspondence School remaining. Which is interesting because if it isn't expected to ship until late September - early October, they probably haven't even placed a print order yet.

I would also guess that this is because of huge demand/orders for the product, and that they may be close to hitting the max number they feel able to produce. The Adventure Zone has become an enormous thing; the recent graphic novel adaptation of the first arc of the podcast was just released and was the #1 bestselling paperback trade fiction book in the NYT in its first week (the first time a graphic novel has ever topped that chart).
