The MPC website says limited quantities are available...

Now specifically reads:
LIMITED QUANTITIES LEFT! GET YOURS TODAY BEFORE RISEN! IS SENT TO THE ARCHIVES.
This is really sad to watch happening in real time.

I think their intentions are pretty clear!

They may not have enough inventory for a press release or to email their entire customer base. I remember Century Beast selling out within 24 hours after seeing a similar thread about it on this forum. I just purchased one.

Eleven hours ago, I purchased Risen, fearing that the writing was on the wall. One hour ago, MPC sent out an email, cutting the price in half. I fear I may be cursed.

I just jumped on that sucker and ordered it for a friend. Had a $25 credit (can't even remember from what) and so that took care of the postage. A great deal for $99!

And ... Risen has been archived.

If they aren't intending to go out of business, my best guess at this point is that MPC is creating the illusion of scarcity to boost sales and reduce inventory requirements.
I predict that we'll see all experiences Archived after their initial run, and then we'll start seeing special "From the Curator's Archives" limited edition runs of these archived experiences in the future.

I had imagined (hoped? Maybe?) that they would do something similar to Disney movies where they would occasionally bring something back from the dead (again...ha...) later on. But they are running out of things to actually sell - soon it will just be an archive.

But they are running out of things to actually sell - soon it will just be an archive. That is my question. If they archive everything, do they shut the doors? Or, rebrand and try something new? I don't buy the GDA as their new offering as they have done squat with it thus far.

When was the GDA concept created? If it was announced in V4C4, wouldn't it have been created months earlier? If my estimation is correct, then perhaps the individuals behind the GDA concept are no longer at MPC.

Just an advertisement Tossed in.
