Hi all! So, I’m thrilled to have received curios and conundrums 3 (plus back issues) today. But I have no idea where to start! Should I be opening the enevelope that I assume holds volume 1 and 2? Or do I skip that and go in to series 3? If series 3, which envelope is the first (the one with chains, a tied parcel, goat skin, or green emerald thing?). Have no idea if I need to do this in order, or if 3 is independent of 1 and 2....not indeed if there is a ‘story’ of if once I open something it is just some fun diversionary puzzles?
Arguably I should have known this before purchasing, but have been trying to avoid spoilers!

It's up to you...but if you really want to understand the underlying story, you need to start with Volume I and work your way forward. You can start with Volume III if you want, but some of the story and the references will be lost on you if you do that.
The green envelope is Issue 1 of Volume III, if you choose to start there.

I'll add that the "tied parcel" is 3.2, the chains are 3.3, and the goat hide is 3.4. Just in case you want to put them in order.

Thanks for the tips both!
If I start with volumes I or II do I need to solve the puzzles within, or is reading the content enough to get a story feel?

I found Volume 3 much more accessible -- so much of the material for Volumes 1&2 is only available via this forum and the wiki, and at times it's hard to track what you should have or know about when. Volumes 1&2 are well worth doing, but I felt much more confident working on their more obscure puzzles once I'd done Volume 3. Having all the artifacts at hand with Volume 3 made it more immersive to me. The lightbulb moment with the Nitpicker was when I realized that this was going to be amazing.

Vol 1 and 2 will require some amount of direct help from the members here to get through. Vol 3 can be done on your own, with plenty of hints available in these threads.
