spudsmalone Your situation is exactly what I was thinking when I was surfing the site and seeing that they were still offering catch ups. Without the vaults, you'd have no way of knowing whether you were correct or not with any of your thinking other than to somehow find this forum (of which no one in here is being paid $10k to supply confirmations either). Not to mention for those of us who DID find the vault, it's now a sad memory that we can describe, but not show, to others. Well, for Volume III - I do have screen shots of each Lock (both before and after the correct word is entered). As for the Vault, while there is no sound effect for the Vault door opening...I do have screen shots of the contents of the Vault.

Hmm, well with that information I sent them the following, I doubt I'll even get a response, but really I think these people are not operating with the best wishes of their customers in mind. If they were going to remove the vault they should stop selling C&C entirely - I see they are still flogging it on the new and improved website even now... Good Evening Sir, I understand that with the re-design of the website, the demise of Curios & Conundrums and the forthcoming introduction of a new subscription package you have decided not to continue to support the vault and it will no longer be available. While this is, of course, your decision to make, this information was not made clear when I recently purchased volumes 1-3 of C&C to catch up on all that I had missed; having, unfortunately, arrived very late to this particular party. I now have no opportunity to achieve a satisfactory resolution to the experience I brought into, as the codes and secrets I have been busy discovering will lead me to naught. The fact that I have no vault to open at the end makes a sad mockery of any attempt to continue and completely ruins the experience I purchased in good faith. leaving me with no desire to continue and essentially rendering the whole thing worthless to me. With this in mind I fear that you have mis-sold me my recent purchase and, as you are apparently saving $10,000 by not maintaining the vault I was hoping you could find it within reason to reimburse me the cost of $64.99 which I spent for an experience which no is no longer possible or existent. Many Thanks and Kind Regards, DAN Very interested to see what response you get

Todd, now that C&C has concluded, would it be possible to post the Vault material here for posterity (including suckers like me who could never open the vault)?

Todd, now that C&C has concluded, would it be possible to post the Vault material here for posterity (including suckers like me who could never open the vault)? To be honest, except for Volume 3, which had a lengthy narrative conclusion to the vague story in Volume 3 the actual content inside of each Vault was minimal at best; we're talking a tiny bit of text in 1 and 2 and for Volumes 2 and 3, a list of the solvers in order. Truly a case of the journey mattering more than the destination. Happy to share puzzle answers with you via PM though.

You know I never did receive any type of formal notification that C&C was ending. "As you may or may not have heard..." Why the heck haven't they told us? My subscription information has been deleted with the website overhaul.

I have no idea why copying the pages over to the Vault would cost $10,000. That's ludicrous. Unless they didn't actually own those pages.

Or they are moving a physical vault.

In fairness to MPC, the Vault was heavily tied in to the User Database, and the User Database is part of what was overhauled in the new site. That's why you had to create a new password. They were able to port over the non-secure information, like email addresses and mailing addresses, but they don't have access to your actual password or credit card information.
Where Volume 3 is concerned, each lock state is a separate boolean bit, and so each separate key would need to be re-mapped to the new field in the new user database. Not a small task. However, if it was planned for, the migration and re-coding should not have been cost prohibitive.
So no, it's not a simple matter of just keeping the original Vault pages online. But I don't think the $10,000 figure, even if in Canadian dollars, is accurate either.

I was referring to just making the material available to C&C subscribers. You email MPC, they confirm your identity, and then they send you an email with the material attached.

A little part of me has died.
I was really invested in the CnC mystery, and unlocking the vaults.
MPC ruined CnC for me..
That being said, I feel like continuing the puzzles, knowing the prize is gone, would be an exercise in self-flagellation for me.
I would really appreciate screenshots of the contents of the vaults in PMs from those who have them, and a list of solutions for the volume 3 issues.
I came in the middle of story, so I don't own or intend to purchase the catch up of volumes 1 & 2. I just want to see what it was all supposed to be.
I intend to complete the undated 1-off box on my own, as it doesn't sound to be related to the larger story (if someone can insist otherwise, I'll listen)
Are each of the 2018 Curios supposed to be 1-off boxes? Or are they done completely with Curios and Conundrums henceforth?
Edit: Ah it appears my 1 off box may be the last of the 2017 volume? I could use some clarification on that.
"When The Heavens Foretold Our Doom" - is that the last of the 2017 boxes, or the first of the 2018?

There are four boxes in C&C for 2017. They constitute volume 4, and all of them are still available on the MPC website under "Curiosities." The entirety of volume 3 (which was much better, but did not come in boxes) is also available on the same page, but for $135 less than most folks paid for it. If you are logged in on the MPC website, this is it: mysteriouspackage.com/collections/curiosities

The new product they will be offering in 2018 is entitled "Murder for Sale". No details have been issued as to what exactly that is, but there is an announcement due out on February 1st.

In response to your request to be given all puzzle answers and the contents of the Vault without doing the work - unfortunately that request will not be honored. At least not by me (and I doubt any of the Administrators/Moderators of this site would do that either). Those of us that made it to the Vault put in many pain-filled, joy-filled, frustrating, exuberant hours and hours of time to reach the Vault. The puzzles remain and the content of the Vault remain. The only thing that is gone is the elaborate website that supported it. It would be unfair to all the others that came before you [and to those who are currently still working hard to make it to the Vault] to hand you all the solutions and the contents of the Vault just because a fancy website is gone. I hope you will reconsider and find the motivation to continue to work on Volume 3. While I am sure this is a disappointment to you, I hope you understand.
