I sent off an email to the curator/concierge: Will we be seeing more info on these new murder boxes you are going with? I'm not very fond of buying a pig in a poke. *** Their answer: Indeed, we at the Support desk have yet to get all the desired information about the upcoming product ourselves, so we cannot offer you anything about it just yet, but neither would we ask you to buy anything until the Curator lets all members know just what he has in mind. We look forward to seeing this released soon, but in the meantime will have to beg your patience. Of course, should you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me forthwith. Allen a Concierge with Member Services at The Mysterious Package Company www.mysteriouspackage.com*** Just sayin"

A non-answer. Perfect for our times.

I still can't believe that MPC decided that the best possible solution they could come up with for the decline and cancellation of C&C is "Let's copy what at least 3 other companies are already doing."

I can. It's the same reason drug stores open against each other on opposite corners of the same street

And gas stations, too. Where we live, there are five gas stations next to one another and across the street. All with different prices, by the way.

I dunno, if there's one group of people at the company I sympathize with, it's the Concierge. I had correspondence with one of them about me missing an issue from my Volume 3 collection and it lead to it getting botched a couple times (namely I got a second issue 2 and then when I DID get issue 3, it was missing a curio). I wanna say there was at least 20 emails exchanged between the two of us and towards the latter half, I could tell that even she was getting annoyed with what was happening with me. She didn't explicitly say anything, but she alluded to it and that's the point I'm trying to get at. It's very possibly they know something just from working there, but there's gotta be NDAs up to their ankles for stuff like this, so it's probably something like "I could tell you what I know, buuut then I'd be fired." Maybe it's wishful thinking on Allen's part, but it does sound like they're not just gonna expect people to subscribe to it on good faith, ESPECIALLY after this past year. We just gotta wait :/

It's a very common marketing strategy, to go where you know the customers exist, even if there is a lot of competition. I have to assume it works well enough or companies wouldn't do it.

I think the point is that the Mysterious Package Company is known for unique items...when you doing what everyone else is doing - you are no longer unique, different or "mysterious".

We just gotta wait :/ My gut is that they intend to migrate all existing subscribers over to the new box. Make sure you're familiar with this page: www.mysteriouspackage.com/pages/terms

Make sure you're familiar with this page: www.mysteriouspackage.com/pages/termsI think so too....that is why I haven't yet "cancelled" my subscription to C&C. I'm waiting to see if they offer a decent discount to "current" C&C subscribers on the new product...once I find that out, then I will make the determination whether to cancel that subscription.

Maybe if they have fictional murders of famous characters or people it would be more interesting. Kill Sherlock Holmes. Kill Edgar Allen Poe. Kill Houdini. Etc.
