For those of you who missed the window to get in on the Kickstarter campaign, there’s now an opportunity for you to get the Kickstarter Edition. They've opened up orders for new backers while the BackerKit survey is live. Prices for The Conjurer’s Almanaq are $5 higher for new backers. Hi folks, I just recently discovered this site and thought I'd drop by to let you know about a few things. First, as Geodus notes, we opened up BackerKit to "last chance" backers through roughly April 24th. Second, we put up a a Hints and Answer verification system at www.almanaq.com/hints — which does include hints for the Membership Application. Speaking of the Membership Application, it has a magical property. When you finish filling it out, you will get immediate confirmation whether you have submitted it properly. You then need to fill in the application form a second time to learn whether your application status, which you will also learn immediately. Good luck!

I got an email update that says these will ship December 14.
If Simulacra stays on course and Armchair Detectives get in gear, it's shaping up to be a puzzleful holiday season.

Mine arrived today. Looks like a lot of fun. I told my kids I'd wait till they got back home for Christmas break before I start (since there's no WWA to do together ).

Mine arrived yesterday, but I'm leaving today for a cruise. I seriously considered taking it with me, bit I don't think my wife would appreciate it very much if I spent the entire cruise noodling over puzzles in our cabin. It looks awesome, though!

Just checking in on this... I’ve been working on this the last few days now that things have slowed down and everyone is home for Christmas. It is very challenging, but a lot of fun. Anyone else making any progress?

Thanks for getting this discussion going. I got mine last week and looked it over. I don't know where to begin.

I am still figuring things out, but in general the book works like this: There is a main puzzle for each of the 10 chapters after the Introduction, and then a meta-puzzle based on the 10 answers. I solved the first chapter first (symbology). Focus on that section, studying the pages carefully and feel free to PM me if you need a nudge.

[crickets] Anyone else working on this yet? It can be a little daunting until you figure out how the book works, but once you make some progress, things will start falling into place. There are also many easter eggs and hidden puzzles that are not part of the overall book puzzle that I am interested in discussing. My general advice to those just beginning: Start with potions (as actually recommended by Qdini in that chapter). Read and re-read the intro page, paying attention to odd phrasing and word choice. If you get stuck, move on to a different chapter and come back later. This is an entirely different sort of book than the Librarian's Almanaq, if you did that one. I have had a lot of fun and am looking forward to finishing. If you did not participate in the kickstarter, there will be some extra copies of the KS edition, and the mass-market version available sometime next month. I don't know the pricing, but I would recommend the KS edition since it is in color and I believe has a few extra puzzles end the inside cover, etc. Info on the books and some important errata are at: www.almanaq.com/

I have it but I’m not planning on starting on it for quite a while. I was actually not at all a fan of Librarian’s page tearing gimmick (if you’re going to make that a core part of the experience, at least make the pages perforated) and more or less gave up on it quickly once I saw how tenuous a lot of the connections were.
Conjurers looks like a better designed experience but much more obscure in terms of what to do, which is cool but not necessarily my favorite kind of puzzle experience. I can tell that it’s going to take a lot of focus and effort, and with a bunch of work projects (and Wilson Wolfe looming), I just don’t have the energy or time that would be needed to really devote to this. Maybe someday...

I looked at it the day I received it and, being so different from the Librarian's Almanaq, I set it aside as it was not what I was expecting.
I then did some housekeeping to attend to the piles of clutter I had accumulated during the holidays, and have lost track of where I put it.

Email from Almanaq today: y893.mjt.lu/nl2/y893/1piz.htmlText below (sans links): Conjuring For All The black-and-white mass-market edition of The Conjurer's Almanaq is now available! Get it at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and here in Redmond at Brick and Mortar books. If your local bookstore doesn't carry it, they can order it with the ISBN*: 978-0996256810. (Note: when ordering online, don't buy from third-party sellers.**) The black-and-white edition looks excellent. Not as spiffy as the Limited Edition — of course — but we optimized all the photographs and artwork to look great in black-and-white. The puzzles are the same, but the mass market edition does not include the Limited Edition's accessories (the dust jacket/brochure, the end papers, the artifact, the map, The History of the Seven, and The Morgue). But — good news — these accessories, the brochure, the artifact, and The Morgue, can be purchased in ... The Almanaq Online Store Our online store is starting off simple, with just the accessories. We'll expand the store in about a week to add the leftover Limited Edition copies. We also have some leftover maps (including a few that aren't folded), and a few unfolded dust jackets that we will make available soon. Any unfolded items will ship rolled up. Hints and Answers Answers can be verified on our web site (and if you find one that can't be, please let us know). We're going to wait a bit longer before adding more. In the meantime, there is some solver-to-solver discussion going on in the Almanaq community forum on Reddit, which we encourage you to join. We will let you know when we add hints. Do you run an escape room or other puzzle-related business? If you're interested in wholesale purchases of either or both almanaqs for resale, join our Almanaq PR list as we'll be sending some information out shortly. Happy Conjuring! Roy and Emily * You may have noticed that your Limited Edition copy does not have an ISBN on it. Not accidental. ISBNs are needed for any book that is distributed, but we are the only one selling the Limited Edition. We didn't want to ruin the nice all-black cover of the softcover or interfere with the art on the hardcover's dust jacket, not to mention the confusion if people started reviewing a book on produce! Also, since an ISBN is for an edition, not a book, the introduction of two more ISBNs could have meant split reviews on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads, etc. This way, 978-0996256810 is the only ISBN for the book. ** Our first-ever second footnote! Woohoo! It seems there are a lot of disreputable third-party sellers who claim to sell copies of our books at a discount. But when you add in shipping and handling, it's actually more money than if you buy it from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or your local bookstore. They don't actually stock the book — they buy a copy only after you order it, then ship it to you, so it also takes longer for you to get it. And we receive the least amount of money for such a sale, so it's bad all around. We recommend you stick with the sites themselves or your local bookstore.

Bonus group puzzle. Help needed! Someone on Reddit discovered that there are variations in the fold up maps that were included in the KS edition. We believe it is part of a bonus puzzle that requires input from a large number of KS backers. It does not appear to be related to the actual map puzzle, so helping out now should not spoil the map for you if you haven’t started it. Then again, we don’t know what it will lead to. If you would like to help, read on.. Most of the maps squares have names, such as “Smoke on the Water” in the upper right corner square. One person has that space named “Smoke on the Shade”. Other people have other squares where a word has been replaced with “Shade”. There are typically 3-4 such “shade squares” per map. The thought is that all of those squares from many backers need to be shaded in to get a coded message, likely Braille. We need the row # and name of any space containing the word “shade.” If you’d like to contribute, please head over to Reddit r/Almanaq to share your info, or you can post here or send to me via PM. Thanks!

Your posts have me champing at the bit... Hopefully I can begin this soon.
