Well, that by far was the most enjoyable email I have received from MPC in quite a while. A Yule Goat and a Yule Cat.

Putting the Holidays back into the Dread Holidays. I don't even mind that it's technically a papercraft.

I must say, the price is right with that ornament/papercraft!
Overall, this is cute, and a nice way to approach the Dread Holidays.

Does anyone find the tale of the Yule Goat to echo what a lot of us feel is going on with C&C and the MPC in whole?
There was a character who helped win vs evil, was a direct line to God, and (most importantly) brought gifts to eager children (us).
Then, there was a parting of ways, leaving room for what is currently in place.
After the parting, people were asking for a return to the old ways on social media. To that they was a response that there will be a triumphant return next year.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty interesting if you read between the lines.

Perhaps all the misspellings, odd capitalization, and grammatical mistakes in the Jólakötturinn tale lead to a message? Or perhaps the MPC just didn't have an editor. For example: "a proper Scandinavian Forrest cat, with a thick winter coat and an impressive grey main setting off golden eyes." Scandinavian Forest cats only have one R and they actually mean "mane". Then again, they also use the wrong "mane" toward the end of the story, too. I don't know. Just thought I'd throw the thought out there.

Oh my, I unsubscribed their emails like 2 months ago because I got so annoyed by the never ending ads ..and now finally they got out something really good and I missed it.
Especially since I studied icelandic back in the days.

Just received (though not on the site yet):
Each celebration has its traditions. Often these traditions come about as a result of a humorous experience, a critical reaction, or solely because it feels as though one is required. Think of the annual birthday meal that began as a result of a beautiful, or awful, night out. Or the Christmas tradition resulting from sibling rivalry, eventually culminating in the elaborate ritual of tricking someone into accepting an "awful gift" passed through the family for decades.
DREADED HOLIDAY CARDS
Now is precisely the time of year when we arrive at another anniversary. We must remind you that it is now too late to guarantee delivery of your Experience in time for the traditional holiday period.
We’d like to help alleviate any discomfort or uncertainty associated with a delayed gift. To assist you, we have crafted four unique cards, each offering a different take on the impending not-too-late arrival of your recipient’s gift. They are accompanied by instructions on how to create and deliver the cards while maintaining the integrity of the Experience itself.
The Mysterious Package Company would like to thank you for your custom, and we want to ensure you we’ll do everything necessary to keep the mystery intact.
Your Servant,

I had a good chuckle at the fourth Holiday Card. This series of posts from them is a really nice free bonus.
