I found it for $35 at an antique store. Someone had painted parts of the wood and all the metal with hideous bright red and white paint.

Maybe I should start a new thread for this, but as the greenest of greenhorns ... in what ways does everyone conduct research? Do you use google sheets/docs to keep notes or pen(cil) and paper? Mind mups? Padlet? Investigator boards on your walls at home? A combination of all of it? While my investigator board is currently being used for something else and I've yet to find a rhythm, I find myself using a bit of everything, leaving me feel a bit disorganized.. Curious to see what works for others! So far I just use a notebook, and use post it tabs to section off the different volumes. I try to aim for one page per puzzle, but some puzzles require several pages! I use one page at the back for a list of each volumes vault words, and another page at the back showing the phonetic value assigned to each vault symbol (for volume 3). I've just today added a few more pages at the back for the "phrases" on the two maps we have. I've also started to scan some puzzles. I don't worry too much about marking up my copies of C&C. I know I have hoarder tendencies so I have made a conscious decision to NOT hoard my C&C papers, though the additional items may take a bit more convincing on my part.

Curious to see what works for others! I use my iPhone and iPad with a shared Dropbox folder between the devices. Photos of the pages, puzzles and screenshots for research get uploaded. Also using a personal wiki for puzzle notes and solving logic.

I recently acquired an old trunk I'm refinishing. All future items of a mysterious or curious nature shall be stored within. Very cool and fitting!
