Just spent the afternoon with 4 of us working on this. I feel like there are lots of things that I have a good idea of what to do with them, and many more that I need to figure out how to connect. Given that it was my purchase, I spent a lot of time assembling the things needing putting together, so I didn't spend as much time on the puzzles. Grabbing dinner now, then I plan to photo document the entire thing. I figure that'll let or group keep poking at things when we're not together and let me markup images instead of the actual objects.

For dolts like me, the "Hint" section of the Wilson Wolfe website is now live.
I'm very pleased with the physical aspects of what is included in the Platinum level--that's one of the reasons I love the Experiences from the MPC; the tactile and visual nature please me no end. But, as an Aspie, puzzles only frustrate endlessly, and it's much more fun (for me, and I don't recommend this for anyone else) to actually be led step by step through the puzzles. I do try to figure things out at each step along the way, but fail most times. Thus the "Hint" part of the website allows me to derive much more pleasure, rather than frustration, from the experience.
And in case you're just curious about the complexity of the puzzles, the full set of hints prints out at 17 pages and is over 7000 words.

While everyone else complains about smashed boxes and damaged pieces, allow me to vent about the hints being made available already.
There are those of us in this community that love to work through the puzzles, and don't find it discouraging to have to go through multiple attempts, or even spend days or weeks searching for a solution. It's what we enjoy. Each failed attempt just makes the final crack that much sweeter. We have come together here initially to work on Curios and Conundrums as a group, but now failing that, we still look for challenges to solve together. Wilson Wolfe has breathed a little new life into this community.
With hints now available, we will not have any puzzle that will need to linger for days or weeks while we all collectively look for the answers.
I do realize that those who, like me, enjoy complex puzzles are free to not look at the hints. But unfortunately, that is a flawed solution. If we are discussing a puzzle here, and someone who read the hints helps us solve is, then it still wasn't solved without hints from the puzzle maker.
Everyone is entitled to enjoy this game the way that best suits them. I just wish we had a few more weeks before the hints had gone up.

I'm glad there are hints. Yes, anyone is free not to look at them. And if the group is trying to collectively solve a puzzle, then someone who has "peeked" simply shouldn't get involved. I'm not sure how you police that. But the hints ARE there for those of us who want a nudge, and folks are free NOT to nudge themselves as well.

IIRC part of the pitch for Wilson Wolfe was that there are meta puzzles that are hidden in the game that are more complex and which won't appear in any hints section. So I think there is plenty of unspoiled content for the community to chew on, if we ever find it

Todd, I think most people who really enjoy puzzles won't look at the hints, no?

Todd, I think most people who really enjoy puzzles won't look at the hints, no? It would seem that way, but it's really quite difficult to ignore them when you're stumped and you know they're there. And that was always going to be the case for this game. We knew that going in. And as kevin pointed out, there is supposed to be extra stuff in the game just for us. I hope it's still there, and isn't reduced like how the online content became three videos.

Well, my USB arrived today - with a poster. I don’t recall ordering a poster, but I may have. Or maybe it’s a poster everyone will get?

After a full day+ of working on WW I have managed to solve two puzzles. Feels like the old C&C days. Feb. 23rd & 25th solved. I have barely scratched the surface. of course this assumes only one puzzle for each of those days. I will look them over again to see if there is something else I may have missed.

I worked on the 250 piece jigsaw puzzle, only to realize my work surface wasn’t quite large enough. Tomorrow I will have to open the back door so the cats will go outside and play, then shut myself in the spare bedroom so I can put this together on the floor. I just about had all the edges done when I had to put it back in the box.

I also got my view master working, which for me was pretty huge.

Has anyone been able to reach George or anyone at Simulacra before? I emailed them about a stereoscope replacement (and asked if I could spend money to get the additional USB and add-on posters shipped) and radio silence.

Me, too, and no response. I think they have a giant backlog of messages with all the smashed up boxes and everything, and are really busy answering all those
