They really should remove the video from the C&C page, it not longer actually portrays what C&C is about. Maybe they'll hear us and get back to their roots next year.

Or maybe the Curator was captured by a group with nefarious intent and replaced with an imposter who seeks to shut out those of us who would seek to rescue him. Thus the drastic changes to C&C...
And yet there are still those loyal to the Curator within the writing and editing staff of C&C, and they are hiding messages in C&C for him to read as he awakens from his drug-induced slumber....

I don't understand what the big deal is with the MPC simply changing the font that is used for The Curator's signature. It only makes sense in a fantasy world if there is a "new" Curator. In the real world it means that someone decided to just use a different font.

In the real world it means that someone decided to just use a different font. It's called "suspension of disbelief". We're buying into the fantasy that it's a signature and not a font. It's what Curios & Conundrums used to be all about.

thegenii does prove the point wortelboer was making, though. If the current trends continue, then in the very near future all of the fun and intrigue that used to make MPC, and Curios & Conundrums specifically, the cult favorite that it was will be gone completely. No longer will we scour every issue for spelling mistakes and font changes that could play into a secret puzzle or cipher. In fact, for many those days have already passed. In Volumes 1 and 2 we were led to believe that these secret messages were an attempt to communicate directly with us, the subscribers. In Volume 3, MPC transformed us into interlopers and meddlers for solving these puzzles, which isn't terrible if taken in-game, but considering the direction Volume 4 has taken, I'm not so sure that was meant entirely as an in-game message. First they killed the Sitting Room, which meant that people looking for a place to talk about Curios & Conundrums no longer had an official home. Then by posting answers in the Codex before people even receive their issues, they're killing the need for there to even be a community of puzzle-solvers to work together. And I'd be remiss in excluding the bait and switch with the Filigree artifact and the Cold Signal cancellation mere days after it was announced. But here I make a sweeping cut with Hanlon's Razor: Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. Or in this case, perhaps apathy is a more appropriate explanation.

The Curator gone missing igame or quiting in real life, was something I thought much about the past year. I had a very nice email communication with him back in the days of the Inlet of Whiskey, and we even got beyond the issues I had (I had wrongly ordered more than one exemplar of the C&C) and exchanged favorite book tips. He was nice and intelligent and funny. But when I now email to his adress I will always get a member of staff replying.
So is he not longer reachable under the email adress? Has someone contacted hin directly and got an answer from HIM personally?

When we got the email about the new year, it made me feel very hopeful, so I wanted to email him and tell him so and to wish him a happy New year as well. I never got a response beyond the standard "Thanks for emailing us! Someone will be with you soon!" auto-generated one :/

The Curator was very personable back in the early days, wasn't he/she?

One of the greatest problems companies face when they grow is losing the character and identity of what appealed to their early customers.

I desperately hope they're reading this and will go back to their original way of doing things. From all that I've read, that is what I was expecting and hoping for.
