While membership in a secret organization is something best kept hush hush from all but the closest friends and family members, amongst ourselves we might be permitted to flaunt our special items, just a bit. As such, I wanted to ask:
How is everyone displaying their artifacts and curios from the MPC?
I have a Massive Reorganization of my office space planned, and I'd love to incorporate some of the odds and ends into a part of it. I've seen very spiffy newspaper holders online, but wondered if anyone had come up with clever ways to store or display them for the cheaper more DIY inclined. My husband and I gave the King in Yellow to a friend, and I thought that selection of artifacts would have made a particularly nice collage-style framed piece on the wall. Part of the fun of CnC is the tactile nature, so I'd like to have some of the more unique items in a place where they can be admired first hand. Plus, if the MPC continues to put out larger display pieces, I'll have to get creative with space.
Of course, if I win the lottery, I'll purchase everything fresh and store all the curios in little boxes next to the issues, so guests can be enticed by the intrigue. Heck, I'll build a whole extra room behind a bookcase to store everything.
Barring that, what have you done with your Cool Stuff?

Ugh, we all have the same dream of a secret room behind a bookcase I see... I have heard some good tales of nice bookshelves working nicely. I don't have a lot of things, but I imagine I would want something like a china cabinet one day if I could afford it so that I didn't have to dust stuff. Or maybe I want it dusty? For right now I'm constrained by being in an apartment so no shelves and preferably something that is easy to move when we get a new place. Currently everything is just in a small box, but I have two experiences in the queue so I will have "things" soon. I'm thinking maybe this for now: www.walmart.com/ip/4-Tier-Folding-Shelf-Walnut/6958536 Anything with shelves I would want to be pet-proofed, so the bottom shelves would have to be for mysterious but not mysterious TM items haha. If anyone has storage ideas/examples, I'd love to see some pics!

I'm considering leaving everything boxed up and organized on wire shelves in the basement. That way when my son gets old enough and curious enough he might find them down there, sort of like a miniature version of the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

That way when my son gets old enough and curious enough he might find them down there, sort of like a miniature version of the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Such discipline! I find it hard enough to hide it all away as it is! When the time comes - which is after the last person who visits me regularly has joined us - I would like an old-timey Kuriositätenkabinett. Some piece of furniture with glass doors and lots of drawers, so that some pieces can be displayed openly, while others are only taken out and shown to my Very Special Guests. But, for now, I must keep everything hidden away. The last of my friends whom I plan to send an Experience to is due to receive Filigree in Shadow in spring next year. I will gladly share some phototgraphs when I actually get around to properly displaying my Curios though.

I took a very old cabinet my Grandparents were disposing of, cleaned it up and made it a Cabinet of Curiosities!

I love those newspaper rods that libraries use to hang papers. Might see about either buying or making a version of those!

(the link contains pictures of the artifacts and documents from Tempus Fugit, The Century Beast and The King in Yellow, as well as some Membership goods) This gentleman owns a nicely displayed collection. I do not believe we have seen him around the forums though, have we?

Very nice pictures - and from these, The King In Yellow looks even better than I imagined...I have the feeling this might be the next one to break my bank...

The Artifact from The King In Yellow is gorgeous. In fact, the customs officer in Brunswick spent about an hour searching for references online, as he suspected my recipient to try and smuggle some valuable piece of art into the country. And that was after I had given them the invoice.

My wife and I lucked into an estate sale happening across the street from us and bought a huge close to floor to ceiling cabinet for not much money (I think it was under $100) that works extremely well. It actually has way more room than I needed for the MPC, so we've displayed all kinds of items on it. Happy to take a picture if people are interested, though that will be about as large a spoiler as imaginable due to it showing every MPC artifact. It wasn't exactly super cheap or DIY, but it'll last us for life and it looks great.
Also, I second The King In Yellow artifact love. It's beautiful, a conversation starter, and is perfectly integrated into the story.

I plan on placing the Weeping Book nonchalantly among the other books on my shelf, in hopes that a visitor will accidentally stumble upon it.

My partner and I joked about putting it on a coffee table specifically when friends come over so we can wait until someone goes to open it and dramatically knock it out of their hands and scream "NO!" Just because we're that cheesy.

I used to work for Oakley, and I still have two Oakley display cases in my living room. One of them is now dedicated to MPC.
