Well I've solved the first puzzle! appsto.re/gb/xYtjr.iYes, I appreciate that most here would not even deign to bestow such a title upon the enabling of the adventure to be played on a smartphone, but for me this deserved at least another night-lock or two! As far as the adventure itself goes, I can boast of far less success. It has likely been a matter of decades since I attempted a game like this, and have only done so two or three times for the simple reason that I have never managed to persuade the infuriatingly imbecilic automaton that I control to proceed beyond even the first area. This adventure is proving no different. I have thus far managed to master the skills of "examine" and "take", which have gleaned me a letter and locked box. I have also discovered… (and I really don't know why I'm bothering to spoiler tag this as I can't imagine anyone else here having the slightest difficulty uncovering this much)… A statue on the bookshelf that I cannot aquire. A "receptacle" in the large fireplace. Something "glittering" in the skull that I cannot peruse further or acquire. A tap with a missing handle that has a "strange assemblage". Evidence that the bar itself somehow opens. Possibly by means of replacing the missing handle. In short, I am trapped in the sitting room and my lack of familiarity with navigating this type of game is seriously hampering my progress. If I were physically inside such an "escape room" in real life, I would be quite in my element. As it is, I desperately require some experienced guidance. Think of verbs like push, pull, turn, off, on, etc and try it on one of those items...you can't pick up many items but you can manipulate them in some way..

Is anyone else a little worried that the layout of the MPC headquarters is a swastika? Just wondering. I noticed the same thing but didn't want to say anything until I saw your post. Can never be too careful. THEY are watching.

I think of the layout more like a compass rose. At least thinking of it that way was what led me to be able to solve this lock.

Well A and B are the soundalike of a description. C+D are more of a... Mad Gab. Could do with a pointer (or poke with a pointy stick) to get this bit. I thought CRUDE -redacted- was a really good guess based on the rebus. Isn't that sort of what we were asked to do? I'm going to sleep on it and hope the proper answer comes to me in my dreams! Edit: haha. I was in the kitchen having a quick snack before bed and I think I have the actual answer. If so, I actually had one word right, so I've redacted it for now. I still think my suggestion was a good one though!

Vermont, Think of an actual phrase/saying, don't try to force a weird and unknown one. Be very literal with what A and B are. You're close.

I believe I do have it and now I'm just waiting for it to unlock again. I really should be in bed but I'm pretty excited!

Ah yes, not getting enough sleep from figuring out locks and needing to put in the answer right away and/or wait for it to become available after an incorrect try. I remember those well! I'm looking forward to them again when Volume 4 is published.

It was a lovely moment this morning to know I had the answer. That being said, I waited to enter it until I had enough time to appreciate whatever the result might be. What a ride this whole thing has been!
My favorite points were actually working on my first issue, prior to knowing of this community. The puzzles and stories were interesting, and there was such a reward with each solve I got on my own. Simply discovering the vault for the first time was exciting. I still have a few unanswered questions to chase down, but I think I may then go poke at Volume 1 for a bit - at least until V4 begins. It will be nice to caught up with the group to kick that one off. (That being said, I'd be quite content to not do any anagrams for quite awhile.)
Thanks to everyone that assisted. I am perfectly willing to state there were multiple puzzles that I would never have solved on my own.

found all the plaques, sans the one that may be in the Curator's office.
Any hint into gaining entry???
I've fiddled with the electrical panel and the control panel, but with no results.
