I've purchased one Experience for my wife (Under the Ceiba Tree) and I'm a backer of The Filigree in Shadow (which I will probably use as a gift for someone). I'm now thinking, however, of getting myself a gift of one of the MPC Experiences.
Should I do a Surprise Experience for myself? Has anyone done this and received an Experience that they already purchased (it would be disappointing for me to receive Under the Ceiba Tree, since my wife showed me every new delivery).
What about picking a specific Experience? Those of you who have seen more than one -- which do you think is most enjoyable? Which would you recommend?

I took a shot at the surprise experience with the extended holiday deal. I have yet to purchase an experience for myself (aside of backing Filigree in Shadow) so was open to receiving any of the options (with fingers crossed for a few select ones of course). It seemed like a good deal to me, if I get lucky and wind up with The Century Beast I am saving $100 on the cost of the experience. Worth a shot right?

From a response that I saw on the Facebook page, it would appear that if you have already purchased an experience, they take that into account with the Surprise Me and wouldn't send the same one. I'm not sure if it counts for packages sent to people in the same house. I imagine you could email the Concierge and mention that you previously purchased it and don't want to receive it again.

I would strongly recommend doing this before ordering - I was thinking of ordering two Surprise Mes so emailed them to check that they would be different and the reply was that they had no way of guaranteeing I would receive different experiences. Personally I would think such a thing is simple to ensure, but I wasn't prepared to take the risk really.

Follow up, with surprise me I did indeed get the Century Beast. I consider that a win.

Follow up, with surprise me I did indeed get the Century Beast. I consider that a win. Ooo congrats! I was able to get a Surprise Me just before the price went back up, so I'm excited to see what arrives in a month or so! I probably know the answer, but I'll ask anyway... since it's a surprise me, do they still update tracking information for packages? Or is it truly a surprise?

I ordered a Surprise ME, and from the number of pending shipments, it looks like a Century Beast is headed my way. What a deal!

I am actually very tempted by The Demon Jar! I might just break my No-Experiences-For-Myself-Rule. There are only two mailings anyway, and they announced it with a picture, so basically it is more of a Curio anyway.

Well, it's my birthday in a couple of weeks so I've taken the plunge (previously just had The Weeping Book of the experiences on offer) and hit up a Surprise Me for myself.
Immediately of course feeling very guilty at spending the money on myself, oh well.
However, my shipping notice says on 20th January, 7 days - but all experiences have a 14 or 30 day lead time, so not sure what that means in terms of cluing me in on what I might be receiving...

I bought one last week that was supposed to have a 30 day lead time and it has a tracking number already and says it is set to ship tomorrow supposedly. And I know what I'm getting based on the number of mailings. I feel a little guilty about looking haha

SO quick question on this, when they specify the outstanding shipments, does that include the final black envelope reveal? My Surprise Me has four shipments listed, which I presume is therefore two mailings, the crate, and the final reveal? This would mean it's not Ceiba Tree or Century Beast, but the other four are still in the running...

Based on my mailing schedule, I think it includes the final black envelope. If you end up with John Augur, it will be interesting to see which epilogue you get.

I'm a new member to MPC and I got the surprise me. When I first became a member I looked at one of the experiences on the website, Risen!, just to decide if the whole thing was something I'd like and then purposely avoided looking at the descriptions of the other ones so that I would be completely surprised by what came. But of course they sent me Risen! Plus it was the only one whose plot line didn't appeal to me at all. I've only gotten mailing one, so maybe it'll be better than I think, but I already know what will be in the crate shipment because I accidently read a spoiler when I was looking at reviews for the company online. What a bummer. Literally any other experience would have been preferred.
