Oh dear Lord. Sometimes I wonder how I even get my shoes tied in the morning. Thanks! Interesting that there are 44 magnet symbols and only 34 symbols from the vault. There are 44 symbols. Ten from each of four issues, and the four missives. See the comment about my shoes, above. Sheesh. Happy Monday. It's what happens when I do C&C at night...

I found this to be a particularly helpful tool... You can have it forever if you want!

I can't find my map on my computer anymore where is it online again? The map isn't online. There's a quadrant in each chapter of Volume 3.

Thank you Todd for sending me the link to the map Is this map link a scan on the wiki? As I recall, sunrhyse was actually asking about the puzzle map, or puzzle key, found at the bottom of this page: www.mysteriouspackage.com/cnc

Wish I knew a way to share a document with folks. I'm still working on Vol. 3 - Issue 3 - so do not have all the sounds for the symbols yet...(still have 4 left in Issue 3 and the 10 from Issue 4 left to do) but am creating a key for the codes. I needed a break from the puzzles...and I know deciphering the map is coming...so I peaked at this thread and saw Jessi's link to the phonemes PDF (which was AWESOME). Looking at that I decided to create my own spreadsheet and substitute the cartoon images they had with the symbols of the MPC code. My chart has the MPC symbol - the sound - the common spelling - and the spelling alternatives. It is labor intensive but gives my brain a rest when I'm feeling overwhelmed by the puzzles. Anyway, once it is complete would be happy to share. Figure it will making translating the map quicker when I finally get to it. Those sneaky folks at MPC may well just not want you to decode the map by phonetics but then may want you to spell the words a certain way. That is a long shot I know...but I want to be prepared.
UPDATE - I have finished solving the night locks and completed the spreadsheet. Know I'm very tempted to find a way to create a font with the symbols to create a quick and easy way to encode [and decode] the messages.
Has MPC named this code of theirs? or is there a nickname the C&C group uses for it? I don't recall seeing one.

Has anyone noticed that the answer to the Sun daytime lock has a lot in common with the map? Perhaps that somehow connects with the Harvest Time puzzle?

So, since I had some time I was looking at the map again. I keep thinking there might be something to: The unused letters and numbers. We have the TH from the compass points...We have an F, 8, K, AT symbol, G and a 3.
If you sound it out phoentically...the Fake Gathering or Gather? or The Fate Cat At Guthrie???.
at the bottom you have "The Hid" near "Burdens Den" ...so it reads "The Burdens Hidden". I just wondered if anyone else spent time puzzling over those items and if not, maybe someone else can come up with a website or something. It still seems like there is a lot more to the map that what we used.

As I recall, the title of the map has a long I, so it's The Hide. Which is a pun, I assume, for a map made on an animal hide. Otherwise, I agree that it seems like an awful lot of work for what we get from it. Fortunately, the same cipher is also used on the Wheel of Exposition, as I like to call it, making it feel like there is more of a payoff for the code, if not the map. The @ on the map specifically feels like it should be significant.
