If you are on the hunt for a very large dog, it is important to know that theater folk believe his Scottish counterpart is far less lucky.
If you are looking for a man who's handshake gives you the shivers, it is vital you determine his capacity for ovum consumption.
Two lessons must be learned to track down a hero. Firstly you are looking for the best dressed birds out there, and secondly the name you want sounds obscurely like you are howling at an auto-immune disease.
I hope this helps.

I feel pretty confident about the middle one, although I can't take all the credit for figuring it out. Struggling with the other two. Might the last riddle work back into the first two?

The first one, we've already discussed in the Yellow Card thread, I believe. The third one, I found my trusted adviser (Mr Gustav Oogle) an immense help, as usual. Of course well dressed birds are certainly sporting formal wear, which hopefully are insulated, because publishing houses can get downright chilly, I hear. While Dr. Gregory House might disagree with the auto-immune disease diagnosis, this time it's actually Lupus

Alright. I must be missing some overarching something. I had basically figured out the answers to those two as you said, but feel I'm still half lost. I'll continue beating at it...

Nice. I hope this turns out to be one of those puzzles where we count the words in the third paragraph on page X. I've always wanted to do one of those...
It would also make sense, as I can't quite pin down anything the three works have in common. I wonder if these might be the authors spoken of as keys to the vault, but then the third one would be a bit tricksy.
