Hello,
For those of you interested in Gothic Romance with a mysterious twist, I would recommend Crimson Peak.
This movie's television advertisements don't do it justice, as they can lead you to believe it is a thriller or ghost story...it is not. The movie is set in Victorian times; stage coaches, walking canes, women in dresses, and the social customs and expectations of that age.
The acting is superb, the chapters unfolding steadily and with delicious scenery from gorgeous butterfly wings in the morning sunlight and romantic dance halls, to hauntingly dilapidated mansions and dark foreboding cellars.
The plot takes twists and turns, and the story unravels itself bit by bit as our main character tries to unfold the events taking place, and that have taken place, around her.
This movie is very long, but is enjoyable to the very end and each scene has its purpose.
Cheers.

I enjoyed it in the theater and also purchased the blu-ray. Three very good lead actors. The genre is not what people were expecting, hence its bomb at the box office. It's been a long time since Del Toro has had a big hit (financially or artistically--his Spanish language films are still his best), so fingers crossed his next flick is good.
