They were killed by the SZ at Petroglyphs Provincial Park in 1969. The story of their demise comprised much of the story arc of Volumes 1 and 2. I'm sorry if I am reaching, but I need to ask. Why was Steven Ellis's ceremony held in 1999? An excellent, but unanswered question. There are theories, that maybe it was just a typo , Or maybe there are time travel elements to the story, Or possibly that it somehow figured into a puzzle that was never identified. The first makes the most sense to me, but it remains an unsolved mystery. On a related note, if you're enjoying this issue, I highly recommend the Catch-Up Omnibus. Volume 3 seems to be building on the story that began in the first issue, but perhaps more in a The Lord of the Rings builds off The Hobbit way than as a direct sequel.

Thank you! I have a habit of thinking this way, and people tell me that i'm thinking too much! I wanted to ask about the date, in case it was typed wrong as a clue from an puzzle. Or a typo. I like where it is taking me though, So I'll see what happens in the next C&C.

IMO, it makes no sense that the year of the service would be printed in an obituary. Unless the service wasn't happening in the current year. Unfortunately, since Volume 2 was supposed to wrap up that story line, we might never know.

I thought so too, but there's an article that says that the OSS met at Delmonico's once every decade (10 years?). Although this would be 30 years. Maybe the point in which the 4 members changed? Without knowing the whole story, I'd say he was important enough to have a mysterious ceremony, which say something in itself. Somewhere it said this show was filmed near Labrador.

The Curator has made many announcements that there is a brand new story with this volume and there is no need to know anything about the previous volumes. I sent him an email and promptly received confirmation of this. So if there is any overarching narrative or meta-story, I don't think it will have anything to do with the previous volumes. At least I hope so, this is my first time doing C&C.
P.S. This also my first post. Hi everyone! I'm Jo, sorry if there is any formatting errors.
