This arrived yesterday. It's really pretty and visually well-made. But I'm not a table top kind of person so I need to get some friends together to do this I guess.

mine arrived a few days ago. I had the same feelings. I was hoping I could treat it like a choose your own adventure. I haven't gotten very far into that idea yet though. I was disappointed because the pre-release page said there would be a 23 card tarot and a full 78 card tarot but we only got the one deck. the website was changed sometime after I ordered to reflect the difference. MPC just said tough luck son. The bigger problem is the 78 card deck is supposed to have all the cards from the 23 card deck but the 23 card deck is said to be all major arcana but there are only 22 majors in the 78 card deck, so what is the 23rd card? neither MPC nor Weather Factory seem willing to answer that question.

I haven't even looked that closely. I saw there is a card that is loose and part of the story - is that the missing card? I know nothing of tarot haha.
I also neglected to mention that while everything looks amazing, much is meant to be written on so I will need to make a trip somewhere to make decent copies so I don't only get one play.

None of the cards loose in the box are tarot, unfortunately. Standard tarot has 22 major cards numbered 0-21 and 56 minor separated into 4 suits with 14 cards each. This deck has 22 majors numbered 0-20 and 25 all with non-standard names, and then the normal 56 minors. perhaps one of the aces is the 23rd card
There is a card in there somewhere with a website to download pdf's of the game and a steam key for the cultist simulator game engine. Unfortunately, "The Lady Afterwards" is not a cultist simulator game, as is implied, it's just based on the same rules.
But the game looks great, esthetically, and what I've read of the rules seems like it should be a lot of fun.

I was mistaken, there is a tarot card floating around in the box I had forgotten about but since it doesn't match the deck in any way, I doubt it is the 23rd card in question.

I finally heard back from weather factory, the makers of the Lady Afterwards. They said they also thought the MPC version was to contain both versions of the deck and informed me that the missing card is the Mare-in-the-Tree. It is a non-standard tarot card and they gave it no meaning in terms of divination.
