My first crate arrived yesterday. I'll admit, it's been some time since I've been able to open an MPC wooden crate, so I was rather excited.
So far I'm pleased. In the cardboard mailer box, there was the wooden artifact crate, as well as a smaller cardboard box, and a letter addressed to me. The smaller cardboard box had some contemporary items in it, while the wooden crate had some more historical items. And some paperwork. Ah yes, I've missed the MPC documents and their aging process. These had a wonderful smell to them. On a cursory look, the story they tell seems promising.
There's a few things I want to investigate when I get a chance. One issue I'm having though, is the experience advertises an app that is to be used, and the introductory letter provides a QR code to download. Unfortunately, when I went to the web page to do so, Google Play told me that my device is not compatible. I sent an email off to the Concierge asking is there's a workaround, but I hope this part of the experience is not going to be locked off from me.

I received this the other day and there is quite a lot to work through. There are a few things that I did but not sure what was meant to fully happen - this involved the app. I'll have to keep digging!

I received an email back from MPC regarding the app. I was told that it requires Android 11 to run. This rather upsets me as I have a Samsung Galaxy S9+, and Samsung has no plans to upgrade it from Android 10 to Android 11.
Why designers would deliberately make an app that can't run on the immediately previous OS is beyond me. I can't imagine what functionality is so desperately required that one version out makes it useless.
The order web-page made no mention of minimum requirements for the app, so I REALLY hope this doesn't represent a significant percentage of the experience.

Oh man! Sorry to hear. My crate is still in the "label created but not shipped" stage but I just checked my phone and I have Android 9 so I'm guessing I won't be able to download it either. I hope I can borrow my partner's ipad and make it work maybe. Otherwise I'll also be in the complaint pile soon

I ran the app on my iphone 12 and it really heats up the phone - I assume its because it requires voice command and VR technology. I haven't finished with it yet but it is a bit neat (think Cadet Turner). I think the majority of it could be transferred to a website if needed but the VR might be a little tricky with the front facing cameras many computers have.

Hi. Bit of a forum lurker here, first time posting. Had some questions about the first mailing. Did anyone get the Vassilis Miho items listed on the webpage for the first mailing? The notebook, map, or letter? I know some things can change during a project's development, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something that should have been included. Also, as far as the app goes, I have Android 11 and it didn't seem to work for me either. I could download it, but it would stay stuck on the loading screen.

I don't have the notebook, the map, or letter - unless it's in the cigar box? Maybe you could email them and let us know what they say?

My crate has arrived and while I am excited by the physical elements (as I usually am), I am also in the boat of unable to get the app. It turns out our iPad won't update to the version of iOS needed either so I'm going to have to try and find a friend who can come over just so I can use their phone. Edit to add: Found someone with a cell phone that worked and this is pretty cool. I had him take screenshots and text them to me so I didn't need him around for the whole experience, but there are clearly some components that will require the app for the full experience (one of which I noticed later when reading the documents and my friend was already gone, bah!).

Okay I think I finished the crate - judging by there being a distinction between a phase 1 and 2; I finished phase 1 so I assume phase 2 is with crate 2. I still have a few things that were left locked or questions unanswered so hoping they are resolved in the second crate. Overall it was fun. One part was a little tedious but once I had a routine down it went much quicker and I felt good solving it.

Alright, only having been able to do the physical part of the experience due to the same app issues, here are my thoughts: 1. Unfortunately, my first impression as other have said was that some content seemed to be missing, but it looks like they've since updated the webpage and more narrative documents will be included in issue 2. 2. I liked the cigar box and items within, though it was a bit of a struggle for me to accept HP Lovecraft as a character within the story, with new material being written under his pen-name, while also being set somewhat within his own mythos . 3. As for the story itself, I'm intrigued by the archeology element but it's yet to distinguish itself from the many similar stories so we'll have to see how Crate 2 makes use of it!

I spoke with the concierge when I was confirming if I finished the crate and they said the content missing will be in the second crate.

Finally used my "new employee gift" and had a facepalm moment that I didn't think to do that before haha. Nothing critical but kind of cool.
