I've mostly cracked this, and I love the design on this puzzle. Happy to provide hints if needed, but I think this will be relatively straightforward for seasoned C&Cers.

The (fake) folding idea shown in the original campaign was pretty interesting.

It was confusing that the solution seemed to have less characters than we were led to believe it should but it seemed to make no practical difference when it came to the next part so *shrug*. Still seems like a mistake though.

We were making good progress on this, and recognized what the instructions were telling us to do, but things fell apart a bit at the... discernment stage. I know what we were supposed to see, but it felt ambiguous. That left us a little disappointed, though we got through it in the end, once we read a hint about how we were meant to interpret some similar things.

I've tried folding up a photocopy of the board but nothing from that I've also tried looking at it through just one of the lenses of the 3d glasses - as seems to be indicated by the instructions for the game - and although there does seem to be vague highlights - nothing I can determine.
Also looked at the obvious wrong numbers on (a copy of ) the board and tried to shade them in to create a different pattern - but no joy Can someone give me a nudge in the right direction without revealing too much please?

I can’t remember the exact methodology of the solution, so I don’t think I can spoil it too much. You may want to consider what other things you could look at regarding the incorrect numbers. I can think of a few offhand, but I don’t think the possibilities are endless so I don’t want to say too much.
You’re probably doing the right thing with the glasses — but I found the effect of looking through them not nearly dramatic enough to draw the conclusions they want you to. I genuinely do not know how people solve this one without instructions, but I suppose lighting and natural variation in vision make this easier or harder for some (or impossible for me). However, you may have a better idea of what you’re looking for later in the puzzle. I think.
