I got a lot of good TV show recommendations from adelindanne and lucasscooter in the thread "Dark", that were mostly taking place in some small town, so I thought, why not make an own thread for this trope. So If you know any mystery, crime, supernatural TV shows, that take place in some forgotten little town somewhere in the world, please share I start with the ones I've seen, or looked into already (so not all recommendations of you two are in here, please feel free to add them:-)) -Twin Peaks (the classic) -Dark (very intriguing and complex) -zone blanche (I'm halfway through, good mystery and atmosphere, and dark humor) -Hotel Beau Séjour (just started, looks great)

Its not about a small town, but features a few lost and spooky places: True Detectives season one One of the best shows I ever watched. Tells a tale about two cops trying to place a strange ritualistic killing. It switches between three timelines, showing the fate of the two detectives over the years. Great actors and strong pictures, I highly recommend it!

The Channel Zero mini-series things on Syfy are small-town-esque. If you're into a more mysterious feel, I also recommend Persons Unknown, although it was cancelled and now I'm sad haha.

Let's not forget the greatest TV show ever produced (heavy sarcasm), Murder in Small Town X: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_in_Small_Town_X Seventeen-year old me was OBSESSED with this even though there was a part of me that knew that it was pretty bad. Still, there's certainly never been anything else quite like it (a hybrid of a reality show, a murder mystery, and hammy small town drama), and it looks like its one season is on YouTube. Fair warning if anyone is brave enough to try to watch the whole thing: the ending is terrible, with the two possible murderers at the end being so close to each other in terms of motive and alibi that it turned out to be a crapshoot, so the "winner" was just the contestant who randomly guessed the right one from 50/50 odds.

I always get very emotional when a series I love gets cancelled, or has a change in tone. Very emotional ..like...verrrrry Oh, and I forgot to mention the series Haven. 6 seasons hard core small town mysteries :-)
