We have beautiful weather here in Washington DC today.
A non sequitur with a purpose.

So thats it, after being with C&C since volume 1, I've cancelled my subscription. Partly because of the charging error, but mainly because from the start of Vol 3 onward my interest and the direction of C&C have become increasingly divergent. I wish you all happy continued sleuthing and will no doubt pop up again on the Filigree of Shadow and Armchair Detective threads. And be nice to each other. There's a phrase that has become popular in the UK over the last year (for very sad reasons) - We have more in common than that which divides us.

Sorry to see you go , but yes, please check in on our progress with Volume 4. Also , I have purchased an experience with Armchair Detectives and will be posting about my thoughts. Looking forward to reading yours.

I must admit that the lower level of the puzzles is dissapointng, but as someone who works in a place with a small staff trying to grow, I understand that change takes time.
I intend to have patience with the MPC as they tread the new waters of finding balance between the old and the new. So many people jumping ship so early can be really detrimental to the MPC being able to function the way you lament about as they attempt to find their new grove.
After all, a company who does not change with the times will also die with their era.

Armchair Detective Company looks like it will be incredible--but what a long wait!

Armchair Detective Company looks like it will be incredible--but what a long wait! I pre-ordered two of the experiences from Armchair...so I am hoping it is worth the wait. With C&C scaling back so much in terms of puzzles and story, I hoping Armchair and the other new experience I just purchased from the Decoder Organization will fill in the gap.

The experiences from The Armchair Detective Company will seemingly be much more tactile than C&C--almost like a combination of one of the MPC's Experiences (on steroids) combined with C&C ... I guess we shall see.

Can't wait. As always, time is my biggest enemy I just don't have a lot of it to commit to C&C right now so I feel like I'm missing a lot. Still love it though!

I have big hopes for the Armchair Detective Company - I ordered all 3 experiences. I looked at the Decoder Ring Org, but it costs a whopping $50 to ship it to the UK!

I only ordered one experience with the Armchair Detective Co. , but I also order season 1 from The Decoder Ring Co. I was surprised by the shipping cost, but clicked purchase anyway. Hope it's worth it.

Hope it's worth it. You get a truly staggering amount of content with Decoder Ring, especially if you get into it and try to solve puzzles to get the bonus shipments. At first, I was skeptical about the shipping costs, but I would say of the 18-20 pieces of content, at least a third and likely closer to half are not just letters but are actual artifacts that tie directly to the story, and there's a huge variety of items, including at least one item that you could actually use in everyday life. I was very, very surprised and impressed by the shipments, both in quantity and quality. You're definitely getting a deal for shipping in terms of how many items you'll end up with at the end of it all.

I'm sticking it out with C&C. I actually find the way they are tying each issue to an Experience interesting, albeit transparently sales based. I don't feel like I've missed anything by not having done The King In Yellow experience, and for those that have, it may bring a deeper perspective to the story (I really don't know). Yes, the puzzles are simpler than previous volumes, and the lack of deeper layers to puzzles is something of a concern to me, but I feel like it is still something that I look forward to every time I get a shipping notification, and enjoy working through. I'm hoping the do an issue connected to John Augur...

I just signed up to see what's it all about and take advantage of the slightly higher Canadian dollar. I also ordered Volume III (hopefully I and II is included) and Gods of Madness (I know people complained it was too easy but it be fun to try it out before Volume III to see if I am any good at solving these mail order mysteries). I love puzzles but I am no Mensa level solver.
