Anyone figured out how to read the black squares from the last email or the Brain Butchers webpage on MPC C&C site yet?

I don't think it is something that is supposed to be solved. I had fun with it today at work are used it as a mad Lib. I got some great answers out of it!

I just subscribed to C & C in May. I am a puzzler at heart - love escape rooms, escape board games, puzzle books, puzzle games - you name it. I just finished up Chapter 1 of Vol III and my mind was blown. This was such a quality experience. The puzzles were incredible and thoughtful and clever - just the way I love them. And whenever I struggled I relied on this forum. It was a great experience. I'm so glad I have Chapters 2-4 left to solve. The Vault adds a special element to the puzzles - even if you aren't first - seeing your progression and getting instant feedback in such a clever and thoughtful decision is truly unique. I think some people think it is a race and stop trying for the vault after it is "cracked" if MPC instituted some way to provide all vault crackers with a special momento or item (even if as others have suggested you had to pay for it) than I think many more would keep trying.
I can't believe a couple of weeks after I paid $120 for Volume III they are selling it for $65. I wonder if its exactly the same or if its just the issues? If it is the same I think it kind of stinks that I paid almost double.
Also, I have already ordered the Gods of Madness and subscribed to future issues (i.e. the brain butchers) - all I hope is that they are similar in quality to Volume III - it would be truly sad if they retire the vault. By trying to appeal to the masses they may lose their core puzzler contingent which could backfire if the mass appeal doesn't catch on.

I agree that volume 3 was amazing and I still miss the thrill of receiving those issues. While, so far, Volume 4's puzzles are proving much easier to solve, we are all holding out hope that the difficulty will increase or that deeper puzzles will be revealed. The threads here will help catch you up on those discussions.

Do we know if they have retired the Vault for Vol IV? Unfortunately, MPC keeps their hand close to their chest. If there will be a Volume 4 Vault, it probably will not resemble the Volume 3 Vault at all, and probably will not become available until well after the final issue of Volume 4 has shipped. I suspect that one of the loudest complaints about Volume 3 from us puzzlers was that the Chapter Vaults went live when the issue shipped, so those who received their issues first by virtue of location had an advantage when it came to the Vault. With Volumes 1 and 2, the Vault did not go live until about the time the first issue of the subsequent volume shipped. That gave us all a level playing field where cracking the vault was concerned.

Subscribers are being charged for the new issue now.

I was just charged. I thought they weren't going to continue people's subscriptions automatically, unless they gave their consent to the higher price? I was done after the first issue, but it seems they are continuing my subscription. Not very happy since original posts said they would not continue people's subscriptions. Did I misunderstand something?

Did I misunderstand something? I would definitely contact them, as that seems like an error on their part and one that's easily fixed. They've always been excellent with responding quickly to any issues that I've had, including refunds when necessary.

Did I misunderstand something? Me too. I was not planning to continue with C&C - I dont need more stickers I wont stick and papercrafts I wont craft. The C&C we have now is a totally different experience to what I originally subscribed to. The emails & website was pretty clear in saying that my subscription would be cancelled unless I signed up at the higher cost. "BUT PLEASE NOTE: YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WILL BE CANCELLED AFTER GODS AND MONSTERS IF YOU DO NOT OPT-IN. If you do not opt-in, we cannot in good conscience continue your subscription at a higher rate." I didnt opt-in. I didnt re-subscribe but they have taken a payment at the higher price anyway. I havent authorised this. Have been in touch to express my dissatisfaction and cancel my sub. Not happy about this at all.
